Long time lurker finally joined.

My life has changed significantly during the past year and a half. I went to church every week, but that was it- I went to church. I was "present" but not "active". I had a strong testimony but I didn't do much with it.

Then came the wake up call.

Things as I knew them were flipped upside down. It became quite apparent that there was going to be no more fence sitting. I was either all in or all out. That was the decision that was presented to me and everyone in my family.

The only way true happiness can be found is by living the teachings of Jesus Christ, seeking truth, and acting on the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Truth is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

We are now living the Gospel like we never have before, and I cannot express the joy that it has brought us. Things still are hard at times, but joy can be had while having hard times. My children, some of which have no idea what happened, have commented how much better and happier they feel.

I know this is the true church. If people only get one thing out of this post I want it to be this:

No matter how difficult, how hopeless, or overwhelming things get, never forget that you are a child of God, and he wants you to be happy. He is right beside you. All you have to do is live the commandments the best you can and listen. He will give you a witness AFTER the trial. It might be a long time so don't ever give up. It shall pass!
