applepansy Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) My son needs a vehicle soon and is looking on KSL.com. Two of the trucks he's looking at (good price and good mileage) both have sent emails back saying they truck is in an ebay warehouse and will be shipped when ebay gets the money.Has anyone here heard of this selling option? When we've bought things on KSL classified before we've never heard of this. Neither are using PayPal but want a Western Union payment. They state there is a waiting period before funds will be released to them after the truck is received. One is 3 days and the other is 5 days. One truck is in North Dakota, that one makes sense. The other one is in Utah an hour or so away form us. That one I don't get.Is this for real?edit: Now the seller in West Valley City is in Denver and the truck in in a ebay warehouse? huh? Bini Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Sounds fishy. I wouldn't do it.Maybe I'm not understanding your OP but if there isn't an eBay listing of item, then it's not considered a transaction through eBay. eBay warns users of making payments outside of their setup, even if seller claims connections through eBay. Bini Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 PS. I would stick with the security of PayPal. Quote

Sharky Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 I NEVER pay via Western Union. There is no way to retract or dispute or retrieve the payment once it is made. At least with PayPalyou can dispute the payment & in most cases get it back if there is a problem.Generally EBay & Craigslist etc say to be very cautious if the seller wants payment via Western Union & even cautious accepting payment by Personal Check, Money Order, or Cashiers Check.Shipping by EBay? I've never heard of EBay actually shipping ... the seller on EBay or a seller accepting PayPal can print shipping labels & even get calculated shippinc costs thru EBAy or PayPal, but it is the seller that actually has to ship the item ... Generally with vehicles they are sold As Is, Where Is ... meaning you take them as they are & if you want them somewhere else, that's your problem.I'd say "No Go" to making such a purchase with Western Union or that includes shipping, especially when close to home ... I'm always suspicious of big tket items (vehicles) purchases sight unseen. Quote
skippy740 Posted March 2, 2014 Report Posted March 2, 2014 Since when does ebay have their own warehouse?Ebay brings buyers and sellers together. They don't sell anything else of their own.I wouldn't touch this at all. Quote
