Meerkatarmy Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Hi,I obviously keep the word of wisdom and don't do illicit drugs but have been pescribed diazapam to help me get through a medical exam that would be too anxiety provoking with out it.Does this brake the code as diazpam is abused? Guest Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 If a doctor prescribed diazapam for you, it's not against the Word of Wisdom. If you're abusing diazapam outside of a doctor's recommendation then it is against the Word of Wisdom. My sister-in-law died from an overdose of pain killers. She was prescribed pain killers but she took her prescription and mixed it with somebody else's prescription in a process called "pharming". This is bad. Quote
Guest Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Nothing for you to worry about under those circumstances. Quote

estradling75 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Sorry just read it back seems sillyMany people ask things that might seem silly, but something, some concern prompted the question. If you want to just drop this thread that is fine.If not then I am not quite sure what your concern is? Where is the illicit use? I am not making the connection to what you posted. Quote
Meerkatarmy Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 What I meant was dizapam is abused by people that aren't perscribed it on a regular basis I just wanted to check I wouldn't be classed alongside those. Quote

Suzie Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 I would say it depends. If the doctor is prescribing the medication for someone who really needs it then no, they are not breaking the Word of Wisdom. Having said that, if a doctor prescribes the medication because a patient is lying about their condition (due to addiction) then by all means the person is breaking the Word of Wisdom even if the doctor prescribed it. Having said that, if the latter is a real situation, the person has more issues to deal with than just worrying about breaking the WOW. Quote
Wingnut Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Does this brake the code as diazpam is abused? Are you abusing it? If not, other people's choices don't affect your obedience to the Word of Wisdom. Quote
