Abominable Church

I know a lot of members who believe that it's specifically targeting the Roman Catholic Church.

I even know some people who believe it's the LDS Church!

But I think that Ben's answer is the more commonly believed answer in today's LDS Church.

I would also, at least for the purposes of my own mind, NOT believe that the good in the world which does not explicitly go under the name of Jesus Christ (yet) falls under the umbrella of abomination (was that sentence understandable?)

I think of the abominable church as all that Satan and his conscious and dedicated followers are trying to build up in all arenas of life and civilization, and I would daresay that many good people, in and out of the fold of Jesus Christ, inadvertently or in error put their hand to that wheel because of the nature of this crazy world -- we constantly have to watch ourselves.

It is the choice between agency and liberty, or captivity and a decrease in agency; between the plan of God and the ideas and system of the Adversary; also stated nicely on an individual basis (the 'abominable church' passage illuminates the societal basis) in 2 Nephi 2:27.

THIS ONE has my vote... :hmmm:

How about the Pastafarians? :wow:

I watched the documentary about the Phelps family...The Most Hated Family In America, and found the group highly offensive to just about anybody!!!

It's a badge of honor that my church's headquarters was picketed by the Phelps gang, because we preach, "Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin."
