Annabelli Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Headaches are no joking matter. When your head hurts, it really hurts. Headaches are most commonly caused by mental and/or physical energy surges. No matter where the pain is generated your mind is acutely aware of the problem. While ginger is great for releaving nausa and the pain resulting from it, it is generally not used for pain. By the way gingersnaps are great for morning sickness for those who are pregnant and those young ones who may be teething. Cloves is the natural pain reliever for headaches, toothaches, and the aches and pains caused by flu... etc. You can steep whole cloves (six or eight) and add to warm apple cider to gently releave headaches. For a toothache you need to make a tincture and place it next to the affected tooth. Never add ground ginger to over the counter flu remedies as it can conflict with the mfg's ingredients. You can also add cinnamon and ground ginger to hot cocoa (about 1/8 tsp each). Black Walnut is good for cleaning the stomach of flu germs, diarrhea, and food poisoning all of which can go along with a headache. Quote
escott Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 I have migraines, and they are definitely no joking matter. If you are having a lot of headaches, I would get it checked out with the doctor. I have hormonal migraines, and have tried about every medication there is. LOL Butalbital works best for me. They watch you with it, though, because it can be addictive. It's strong, but it works. I only take it when I feel one coming on, but it really works. It's one of the few meds I can take and still go to work. Best of luck! Quote
