Guest MormonGator Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Home teaching is great too. I just emailed the people I home teach and told them I'm coming over wether they like it or not. Hey, they're Mormons too. They can't just slam the door in my face. :-) Quote

Guest Posted April 3, 2015 Report Posted April 3, 2015 So, I grew up without any fear of public speaking. At all. This was honed from performances on Fiesta celebrations that my mom always volunteered us for as soon as I was old enough to sing/dance/orate/declame/etc. My kids don't have that experience. But, at 11 and 13 years old, they grew up without any fear of public speaking as well. They see their mom and dad extemporaneously speaking on First Sundays and giving prepared talks once in a while and then they get to go infront of everybody in Primary and do stuff - like prayer, reading the scripture of the month, extemporaneous testimony bearing, and giving talks... and now with my son a deacon, giving talks in Sacrament Meeting... man, they shine when they are given a school project that requires oral presentation. We went to the Philippines, had a family reunion (that's a party of at least 300 people), they didn't speak the language but they had no problem going on the stage and telling people about themselves...
