What is your favorite thing to do with the missionaries?

Mine is go out for pizza with them, take fun selfies (though it's always the two of them, the lovely LadyGator, and I, so it's not a selfie) and read some scripture.

I also make them play rocks/paper/scissors to find out who says the blessing before pizza.

It's been a long time since I've done anything with the missionaries.  Being a single member of the female type...it's hard to invite them over due to rules and such.  Which I can respect.

I used to love it when I managed a convenience store with a Subway attached. Any time I saw missionaries in the store or at the gas pump, I'd immediately ask them if they had lunch or dinner yet.  Then I'd hand my debit card to the person at Subway and tell them they could get anything they wanted and it was on me.

Oh I can totally respect that too. 100%

I'll invite you down here next time when it snows too much.  ;)

Taking them to ice skating.  Most of them are from cold climates where ice-skating is a common thing... there's no snow in Florida so taking them ice skating is always a fun thing... for my family (who rarely see ice on the ground, let alone skate on it), and for the missionaries who consider ice skating as "connecting to home".

Study scripture.  Have a lesson on scripture.  Accompany them on a visit with an investigator.

Take them out to lunch or dinner.

I had asked them to visit me in the chemo therapy ward, which they didn't do.  I needed two witnesses because everybody in the church says "you don't look sick, you look ok, you look healthy", even tho' I have stage 4 cancer.

I'm sure some of them think I'm faking it.

Anyway, they didn't come to visit me in the chemo therapy ward or clinic.  They were squeamish, I suppose.  I told them they might see dead people and sick people, I think they got squeamish, and weaseled out.

Right now one of the elders we have has some kind of social disability, so it's awkward. I recognize this as a weakness on my part. But he relates to my kids really well and makes them laugh, so they love having the missionaries over.

We're boring. We just eat and chat.

Oh, that's what we do too. It's only on special occasions I break out the champagne.

Take their pictures on my cell phone.  Then ask for mom and dad's cell numbers and text their parents the picture.

Oh that's a good one!!!!

I don't have time to spoil the missionaries the way I would like to, but as a mother of two missionaries, I'm so grateful to those of you that take good care of our missionaries!

We're having the missionaries over on Christmas day.  It's actually an interesting situation.  One of the elders is my cousins son, and we are very close, as his mom is like a sister to me.  In fact, they lived in this area, moved away about 2 years ago, and when he got his mission call, we all thought he was joking, although some of us predicted it. Well, since I have a lot of non-Mormon family (not related to him, but who know him), the mission president gave me special permission to host him for Christmas.  I am so totally excited, and since this is one day, he can talk to mom, we are hoping to have a Skype session with both families.  Great missionary opportunity, which really I think Heavenly Father was planning.
