Sci-Fi Theology Questions

I would argue that any android, no matter how complex or how well it simulates sentience, cannot have a soul because only Heavenly Father can create spirit life.  An android is, by definition, built by men.

A couple of years ago I met with a few screenwriters (Hollywood types) to discuss science fiction and fantasy in movies.  I mentioned that I believe that there are 3 pillars of magic that has always existed – but for the most part science fiction and fantasy writers (modern man in general) have lost (or forgotten) the actual connection and what is magic.   It is most apparent that few writers understand the pillars of magic.

The First pillar is Music – and includes sounds, harmonies, rhythm and meters (others things as well for those that are expert in the magical art of music.  This is why anciently chants were thought to conger up spells.  Music is powerful magic in memorizing and increasing the power of memory and emotions – and many other things.

The Second pillar is Mathematics – this includes the power of the model language in order to understand and control physical things.  The means to use smaller things (less powerful) to move and control bigger (more powerful) things.

The Third pillar is love – not the romantic love (though romance can be a part of magical love).  But magical love includes compassion and sacrifice.  This is the magical power to touch and change others – but it always first touches and changes the self.

Like a three legged stool – mastering just two of the pillars will not support stable and sustained magic in all the things we can and will face when by intend to use the full power of magic to change and alter the destiny of what would otherwise be.

BTW – one writer asked me why I was so willing to share these ideas – “Are you not afraid that someone will steal your idea?” he asked.  No, I responded – my fear is that the ideas will not be stolen but lost and forgotton.

I wondered if someone would see and realize the symbolic significance of 3.  Specifically in the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  I have wondered if this is my exceptional imagination or if others can see a parallel?
