I was brought up a morman since I was 3.now im 28...and in the last 9 years ihave been to church not much,,,but have been to other christian churches....I have so many questions that cant be answered...like jesus says there is no marriage in heaven...and morman says there is!!!! dont work on sabbath but yet heaps of mormans play sports on sunday,,,,, Our lord and saviour NEVER EVER once spoke one word of joseph smith or the true gospel being taken off the earth... This is a huge point!!!OUR lord didnt say one thing about JOESPH smith!!! I just find it hard to believe joesph smith.....but I believe everything my lord and saviour says!!! the old testament and bible all talk about the coming of the messiah than jesus fulfills this by coming to the earth (new testament) ...and jesus says gospel ends with me.....jesus crushed the idea of Jewish being holy and that all people (gentiles etc jews/samaritans..) were equal and can be blessed and saved...but yet morman church says black people were cursed until late 1970's..this is rubbish!!! the question I ask myself is "did our lord saviour Jesus teach and leave us enough directions (gospel) to return to him and live righteously...

please dont take offense..just speaking from the heart!!!! so much gospel interpretation in this world especially religion..

Black people were nopt "cursed" in the way I think you take it but were not allowed to have the priesthood until revelation could restore it. Several Church prophets took this matter up in prayer to God and it was not until President Kimbal did it that it was revealed to allow it. Were the Church just a manmade organization then it would have been easy to lift the ban, or not have it -- as you may know Joseph Smith conferred the priesthood on several black men before being instructed not to do so anymore, but the Church did not take the easy route -- it took the route it was directed to do.

By the way, in the Old Testament not only were all gentiles denied the opportunity to have the priesthood but most men of the Tribe of Israel since they were not of the Tribe of Levi.

I'm not sure it is reasonable to compare the LDS priesthood with the OT priesthood, since the LDS version is intended for most members, whereas the Old Testament line was for a select few, who were to represent the nation.

Generalizations are a dangerous thing.

First off, the greeting is Salam Alaikum, which you then respond, alaikum salam. Which essentially means Peace be with you. Not unlike many Christian sayings.

Keep in mind that Jesus Christ is an extremely holy man to Muslims, so they generally have great respect for Christianity.

and please, I've read the Qu'ran, stoning women isn't what's preached. It's not. The media likes to put a spin on things and make them look like barbarians. Nutjobs in Afganistan (Taliban) and many from Saudi Arabia just like to manipulate the texts to fit their misogynistic goals.

Most countries don't have ANYTHING like that. Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, UAE, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia are all countries with majority Muslim populations (perhaps not Lebanon, it's roughly half Christian) and none of them stone women or force women to wear hijabs, burkas or the like.

So please, no more misconceptions.

In regards to Atheism, my father is an Atheist. He's not the happiest guy, but I don't think that has anything to do with religion. My best friend is an Atheist, and he's one of the happiest guy's I know. To be perfectly honest, I don't think religion is a major factor in happiness. It can make some people happy, but not everyone.

Also, to whomever said that thinking leads to prayer, well, it doesn't. I know people who think constantly and never pray. That is a huge misconception. Furthermore, I know many who pray and don't think very much. So there isn't much correlation between the two.

People are people. There are individuals with different mindsets from all nationalities and religions. There are good people and bad people, and people somewhere in between.

and finally, about black people: All men are created equal. (Although would be nice if it had said All humans are created equal)

This was the response: "Ok.I won't send you .But know that if you deny God's favors you will be a loser."

I'm surprised he didnt say you should be killed or enslaved for not submitting to the will of Allah, as some of the extreme believe...
