anatess2 Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 I give you the rest of 2017 to freely bash the Duterte Administration without challenge. I promise to read them all and not challenge it. I give this to you as my apology for the Philippine Administration's cowardly abstaining vote on the UN resolution to condemn the US for declaring Jerusalem the officially recognized capital of Israel. A loud, empathic, big NO vote is what the US deserved. The Philippines wimped out. I've made my voice heard in the Malacanang for whatever that's worth. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 (edited) Well, I wasn’t gonna say nuthin’ . . . but I don’t know how I can turn this opportunity down. Did you know that, among other weaknesses, your candidate causes tooth decay in children? I saw that there had been a UN vote about the US embassy move. Haven’t read the resolution itself, so I don’t want to go too far out on a limb—but if the UN is presuming to tell member nations where they can and can’t locate their embassies, then it needs to die. And in Duterte’s defense (there, I said it!), I understand that nearly all of our “friends” abstained—including pretty much all of Europe. It seems to me—and I may be wrong—that in the past you’ve mentioned that the Filipino geopolitical situation means that they’ve got to balance their relationships with various regional powers rather than remaining unfailingly loyal to the US; and I think that’s a valid point. If China or Japan were leaning on them, that certainly puts them in a bind. The UN is a nest of vipers, and it’s every man for himself in there. Edited December 22, 2017 by Just_A_Guy Quote
Guest Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 I actually thought that the Philippines did ok. I have no idea why any nation would vote yes or no on this. What does it have to do with the UN? It's our embassy. I was more shocked that the UK voted to condemn the US. Our closest ally in the world votes against us? Boys from the Mountain, here we come. We're actively fighting a war against their enemies and we abstain from a clear and concise opportunity to make known where we stand on the matter? This is a dark mark on the legacy of Filipino patriots who bleed and die to preserve our heritage fighting the world's superpowers. Yes, we also have peaceful Muslim countrymen. They stand behind Democracy represented by the Jewish State who have Filipino Muslims living peacefully among them. The Filipino terrorists stand on the other side of that line. 128 votes in their favor and the Philippines rolled over and played dead! Quote

The US should require immigrants to learn English before they are given US papers. After all, Americans need to learn Chinese before moving to China, Russian before moving to Russia, Arabic before moving to London. JohnsonJones and Vort 1 1 Quote
