What if the unsealed portion of the gold plates became available and were proven to be accurately translated?

From Luke 16

29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

it would be wonderful if the sealed portions were opened, especially for those who already believe.... for those outside the faith or Christians of the cafeteria variety (pick and choose) I don’t think it would have much impact as they have already rejected the truth presented.

But it is typically not doctrine that brings people into the church, it’s the examples set by Christians living a Christ-like life that do.

Those who are determined to disbelieve in the restored gospel will not care what evidence is found to confirm the Book of Mormon and/or the Book of Abraham. Laman and Lemuel saw an angel and felt the power of God. Some of those who deserted Jesus saw him raise the dead and heal the blind and lame.

There is enough evidence right now to prove that no one in Joseph Smith's day could have written the Book of Mormon. There is ancient information in the book that simply was not available in Joseph's day. When I persuaded one evangelical pastor of this fact, he theorized that Satan revealed that information to Joseph Smith to fool people into believing the book was inspired.
