Who's excited for conference? I am! :D Now that it's online, we go to the chapel with our kids and there's hardly anyone there. They actually like going with us, surprisingly, and between sessions on Saturday we go out to lunch.

I'm really looking forward to the messages there. :) I wonder if anything exciting will happen.

Well I think getting a new apostle called will be exciting. I wonder if he will be from out of the US since now more members are from outside countries.

I think I am gonna start going to the church to watch conference cause then I think I wont be as distracted with other stuff.

Last conference was the best that I have heard cause Pres. Faust and Elder Oaks double teamed on my ex about her choice of divorcing me and not forgiving me so I am really looking forward to what is said this time around. I know it will be very valuable to me.

I am looking forward to that too! :)

I'm sorry about your divorce. That's sad that your wife wouldn't forgive you and now you have to go through the difficult process of forgiving her for divorcing you.

Everyone seems to hope so, as a matter of course...

I am so looking forward to it. I hope my husband will be willing to attend the Priesthood Session. Since my son has been able to attend he has had to go with an Uncle or Great-grandpa. I really wish he was willing to put forth more effort. He won't attend priesthood and refuses to go on Fast Sunday. He sticks around for opening exercises in Priesthood then either leaves and goes golfing or sits in the foyer reading his Bible. Won't read any of the other scriptures and claims the lessons taught in Priesthood/RS are the teaching of man and not Christ.

Sorry for the vent.

I'm sorry to hear that. The last I remember, he had stopped doing that. :(

It's kinda like a fun house here... Never know what's around the next corner. He usually is the one to suggest that we go to the temple. He says he likes going and likes being there with me... But he acts so angry with me for the next few days after we have gone. Kinda like he did me a favor now I owe him one.

Well I think I derailed the thread enough.

Just curious how he retains a temple recommend? I believe one of the questions asked is if you support the leaders of the church, and by not attending his meetings seems to me that he is not supporting the leaders of the church.

I leave that between him and God. I guess the bishop is satisfied with the interview. I am not sure I should get involved in it.

The short story is this. In 2005 my husband left the church to attend the local Calvary Chapel, was baptized (as far as I know this wasn't considered to be a church joining deal), & started coming to church with us in November 2006. The bishop is aware of all the details and I guess whatever is said during the interview is satisfactory for him. My husband went on his own (without my knowledge) to ask for his TR again. When the bishop told me a just about fell out of my chair. The reason for the bishop telling me was that he wanted to renew mine (even though I still had a year left on it) so that it would be like a fresh start for both my husband and I.

I am very very excited about general conference, because this year i am flying thousands of miles just to be there. I am getting my brother in ogden (i think thats where he lives now) to look after my baby while me and my mum and dad go to the sat and sun morning sessions.

I am excited about it because i am willing to give the church one last chance, and i'm willing to put 100% effort into really trying, i've set a quit date for my smoking, im going to pray and read the scriptures, and im even going to general conference. If after that, if i have given it all ive got, and it is still just 'not working' for me, then i think i will have to look into something else. I havent thought too much on that to' i'm just trying to make it work at the moment.

The name is Virginia, and since I am in NY, I plan to watch.

N.Y? ok thats a fairly long travel scenario and expensive! We are very lucky its only 450 miles

for us, we drive it in about 6-7 hr,s. We always have felt the spirit when watching, And have

my entire life wanted to go to a conferance, 1+1/2 years ago we finally got to go, we were blessed

enough to go to 3 sessions. Got to not only hear many very spirit filled speakers, but got to hear the

prophet speak 3 times! and probably the most powerfull spirit was when choir sings.

Listening to them live, is for me, beyond words. Such power, such spirit. The entire thing is very spiritual.

We love it. hope you enjoy as well!

I always look forward to conference. When I lived out of Utah I would listen to it on the Internet or go to the chapel. Now I watch all the sessions on tv. Plus with my DVR I can go out shopping on Saturday and still watch the whole session. I live close enough to SLC to attend, but I like the comfort of home. Though you do miss some of the exciting things that happen, like hecklers being escorted out.

Everyone who has an opportunity should attend in person at least once. It is a great experience.

I have such an incredible desire to move to Utah!! I wish I could be there for conference...but I comfort myself with the knowledge that I live just 1 hour from the place it all started!! And my Temple is the Palmyra Temple!!! I get to go to the Sacred Grove any time I wish...so, life here in NY isn't so bad!!!
