Thanks @Suzie  I have come to believe that perhaps the most missing trait of element of a free society that seems to be missing in our current culture is the concept of "Obligation".   It seems that the most often quoted need is for fairness (which I believe is and illusion that always leads to false conclusions) when, in reality, the greatest need is to realize our obligations.  Or to think that some have a greater obligation than others - which is usually a lie we tell ourselves to absolve ourselves of our obligations.
