So, the House passed HR26

This essentially says that you can't kill any babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion.  Duh.

But opponents are really upset by this.

Quote

“Once again, Democrats are fighting for our reproductive freedom and the 8 in 10 Americans who support the legal right to abortion, while Republicans are doubling down on their anti-choice extremist values. Democrats’ first action was putting forth the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore and expand access to abortion, while Republicans are forcing votes on bills that make it harder for Americans to access the care they need. The contrast between the two parties has never been clearer. We thank our champions on the Hill and look forward to our continued collaboration to ensure these anti-choice bills never leave the House chamber.”

Somehow even preserving a life AFTER birth is considered an affront to the Left. It is deemed "an attack on women's reproductive health". image.jpeg.c1f186d8c4d0f3f3d9a0a4045f948b99.jpeg

"Wildly out of step" to protect a baby born alive.

Funny thing:  They also say that it is unnecessary because it is already illegal to kill a baby born alive.

If it is already illegal, then why is it an affront to simply pass the same restriction again?  How is it an attack to simply pass it again?  I'd say it would be meaningless.  But the fact that the Left considers this an affront tells me that it is happening without consequence already.  Somehow they've figured some legal maneuvering around that law.  So, this law probably has some additional verbiage that kills those work-arounds.

I haven't read either bill.  And I really don't care at this point.  But the reaction from the Left really makes no sense.
