PinkCow Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 [i hope that this is the right board to post this in]I am wondering, how do I know that this Church is right for me? Quote
Mahonri Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 It's all up to you. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you can learn to love like God loves. Find some missionaries of the Church and talk to them. Attend your local ward. Get a Book of Mormon to prayerfully read. God bless you as you seek truth and further light and knowledge. Quote
Dr T Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 I'd say the same thing (with some changes) In a Christian church, you can learn to love like God loves. Find some missionaries of the Church and talk to them. Attend your local church. Get a Bible and prayerfully read. God bless you as you seek truth and further light and knowledge. Quote
Rebky Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Just investigate it. Go to church, talk to people - ask questions... evaluate how your soul responds to what you experience. Quote
inthearmsofsleep Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Study the teachings of this church straight from the scriptures or for a more brief introduction go to mormon.org. If you want to learn more and really want to know if it's true, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. Ask our Heavenly Father if it's true, and if you don't get an answer right away, don't worry about it. Pray often and as much as you need until you find the answers you seek... God is always there : ) Quote

Guest Malcolm Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Hello Pink: "God does not give interviews" my grandma just to say. Thus we are left with our faith and desire to know what is God's plan for us. I firmly believe that we are led bu the hand of God when we seek him. If we listen to the prompting of the Spirit we will find what we look for. I agree; find the missionaries, pray to the Father for insight and read the Book of Mormon. As daylight follows after every night I can tell you that God can not lie. And if you really desire to know if this is His Church just ask Him in prayer. I am glad that you came to this forum. We welcome you and look forward to your questions. Quote
cgrantreed Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 If it wasn't for the feeling I get that Dr.T is trying to say "you came to an LDS board for answers about the LDS faith so I am going to sway you from that direction"... I'd have to say that I agreed with all the posts here. Only you can make those choices. Education is the key and faith in God that He will guide you in the way that is right for you is PARAMOUNT. Go to mormon.org and look around. Go to the LDS.org site also. The church will give you a Book of Mormon if you want one. Take some time to read it and ask PLENTY of questions here in th forums. I'd have to say that you will get a pretty balanced view of Christianity from the forum members here and then its between you and God as to whether you feel that the LDS faith is for you or not. Many here would like to sway you to it but its completely your call. BTW... Just in case Mr T's post threw you... The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the full name of our church. We proclaim Christianity in our own name so I am not sure where he is headed with the " In a Christian church" thing. Quote

I think he was just adding thoughts from his perspective as a Christian and that is valuable. I didn't think he was saying we are not Christian. I hope not anyway. I want to know how anyone arrives at truth. That interests me profoundly. Quote
jadams_4040 Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 [i hope that this is the right board to post this in]I am wondering, how do I know that this Church is right for me? Well if interested at all in eternal familiy relationships and haveing sssoooo many blessings in your life that canott be completely decsribed with words, Then this is the place to find it. With enough scripture study and learning, prayer, and personal sacred experiances you will "know" You might want to first "sincerly" pray to heavenly father with much trueness of heart and ask him first if you should investigate further, he will let yu "know" that as well.:) Quote

Pray always to know the truth. Investigate the church through the missionaries or LDS.org or Mormon.org or an active member. DO NOT let an ex-member, nonmember or some anti-Mormon website tell you what we believe they've been lying to the world for 150 years regarding the church. Godspeed in your journey to find truth!
