MoviePlex is a digital-tier television channel that media company Starz basically offers as a loss-leader, a way to get people to sign up for the premium-tier Starz package.

My digital cable provider, Charter-Spectrum, gives us both MoviePlex and MoviePlex On Demand for "free" as part of our digital bundle.

I'm having to babysit one of my nephews, and got to scrolling through MoviePlex On Demand's massive and eclectic assortment of films to see if there was anything kid-friendly he could watch. Most of the films they have up are cowboy movies from the 1930s and 1940s, plus assorted random fare from the 1940s onward. I eventually get to the "O"s and find the film "Out Of Liberty" from 2019.

Curious as to why a film so new would be on a loss-leader like this, I decide to check the provided description.

It's set in 1830s Missouri.

The cast includes Corbin Allred.

I call my parents in to make sure they're seeing what I'm seeing.

Yes folks, it's a movie made by members of the church about Liberty Jail.

And it's just buried right there so deep in the listings that I question how many people aside from myself have ever noticed that it's there.

(Pull up MoviePlex on Demand. Go to the category that says "All Movies" instead of a given genre. Scroll over to the space that has the arrow asking if you want to see all of the movies available. Select that space. Make yourself lunch because you'll need something to eat while you scroll through all of the movies they have.)

Don't leave us hanging, is the movie any good?

It's PG-13, so it's a little over what the kiddo can handle right now. I'll have to wait until after he goes home.
