Hemidakota Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Who is[are] authorize[d] to write scripture today? Quote
Guest tomk Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 My take on this is: We can write scripture for ourselves. What is a journal? Is a journal not "scripture" for our own benefit? As far as writing scripture for the edification and salvation of others, I think that is something the Lord calls His prophets to do. General Conference, held every 6 months, could certainly be considered to be the "word of God" and thus adding to the body of scripture. Quote
Flyonthewall Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 It has been said that the Ensign contains words of the prophets, and is considered scripture, though not cannonized. Quote
VisionOfLehi Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Patriarchs also "write" scripture, although it is personalized for individual they give it to in a Patriarchal Blessing. Quote
Hemidakota Posted March 10, 2008 Author Report Posted March 10, 2008 From the viewpoint of the church. Sorry. More clarity here. Quote
Traveler Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Who is[are] authorize[d] to write scripture today? Anyone that can testify of Jesus Christ (see Revelation 19:10) Just a note here - many think that they can but do not.The Traveler Quote
a-train Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Any inspired person can write it, but it is not officially canonized as scripture until brought before the body of the Church and sustained as such. -a-train Quote
