More than one woman has used that technique to get pregnant. If you'd like I can tell you of a case I read about that goes way beyond that.

Uh, why not "forget" to take birth control pills or just fish out his used you-know-what from the garbage and make sure you are in the maternity ward 9 months from now?

If you want to be a teacher, policeman, fireman, or even work at a fast food joint in places like Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Florida...you'd better be willing to be fluent in Spanish. Otherwise you'll be an unemplyed "gringo".

Joseph Smith felt that the US should annex Mexico as well. However, had it been done in the early 1800s the country today would look more like Los Angeles in the cities and a lot like middle America elsewhere (immigration from Europe as well as investment and development would have been fostered). Today I fear that if we annex Mexico it will just lead to the opposite -- the US will look more like Tijuana Mexico -- everywhere.

I still love the Danish cartoon showing a line of suicide bombers at the gates of Heaven and Mohammed telling them to knock it off because they are running out of virgins.

Taking 'made In China' To A Whole New Level
Fiannan replied to prisonchaplain's topic in General Discussion
If you think that's a good deal you should go to China and check out the prices on "designer" clothing, handbags and other items. -
Wow, I was just talking with an athletic, 31 year old blond Swede (who is actually into marriage and family -- yeah I'd better point out that she is into marriage with a man, as in Sweden you need to point that out) who is interested in meeting a man who is not wimpy (again, you have to know Swedish men to know the context behind that). She is not a member but I did ask her if the idea of learning about a religion might interest her -- and I pointed out that I am a member and that didn't turn her off -- I am the only member she knows but I told her that any LDS guy I might connect her with probably has about the same view of life and family I have. Interested in an e-mail correspondance? Send me a private reply. I would be able to at least get you connected and you could take it from there.

First, do you think that polygamist even have a chance with women who are outside of the compound? Second, I am not so sure that it is just mollies who are drawn to guys who are a bit dangerous. It would take a very strange woman who would be interested in a man who didn't have moments of the 'bad guy' in them IMHO. A friend of mine mentioned that the girl in her young women's group that was always the leader, highly intelligent and basically your "future stake president's wife" got involved with a polygamist and married him while in college. No, your Jeffers type guys generally marry within the compound but where do you think your "I've studied polygamy and I'm convinced I should take another wife" polygamists get those additional wives? These "freelance polygamists" either secretly live the lifestyle while being fully active in the regular LDS Church or just go it alone with maybe a loose network that still follows the LDS Church 100%(except in this manner), but might fail to attend for fear of being caught. This is where Utah or whereever young women end up marrying into multiple wife lifestyles. As for Mollies, I had an anti-Molly discernment (radar) when I was dating. I found that there are many women out there who are 100% devout but are out of the mainstream. That's the area I would prefer to date in if I were single. I find it much more honest than to try being holier than thou but then go absolutely crazy (if you know what I mean) on a date and then (even if you don't let it get out of hand) they feel all guilty over it.
-
Idahodad, you are only 33? You could be dating women from 18 to infinity! I was once told by a patriarch that age doesn't matter -- even if you are dating a 20 year old she may be older than you if you could the pre-existence. As long as you aren't one of those guys who figures he has kids and all he wants is a young wife (but she can just forget about you giving her any kids of her own) then find ways to meet the younger women.

Are you joking? I have known men who have volunteered to watch their nephews and nieces, take them to the park or mall, and wind up with several phone numbers from attractive women each time they go on the hunt (kids are chick magnets as my sons would say). Yeah, there are a few women who will run away from you but there are many more that will run towards you. There are even some you might want to watch out for that will want a relationship with you just FOR your kids -- if she loves you that is fine but some will want to marry you despite of you. What is your age? One problem age for men in the Church is the 30s. You are seen as too old for the young singles activities but you are way too young for the depends crowd that many stakes have in the "special interest" groups. It's no problem in an area with a large LDS population, but if LDS are few and far between you need to maybe consider things like LDS Singles or other LDS singles meeting places online. A friend of mine with 4 kids and in his mid 30s put his profile on one of these sites and got hits from interested LDS women ranging in age from 18 to his age. He finally met someone there and married her and they have several kids of their own now.

Anthony, assuming you are legit then remember the example of Joseph and Pharoh's wife. The women (from your brief description) sounds like a user. There are plenty of good women out there -- find one and marry her.

Hey thanks Shanstress70! :) I recently heard that Republicans who are more prone to be populist and anti-conformists are being labled McCain Republicans (I have also heard of the phrase South Park Republicans). Maybe we could come up with a lable that takes in such Mormons like J. Golden Kimble Mormons! But seriously, which are the LDS leaders we look to and admire (at least in secret)? I once showed the 1940s movie Brigham Young to a youth audience (members of one of my son's various organizations he is active in) of non-Mormons and they all thought Brigham Young and Porter Rockwell's characters were way cool. I think everyone whould be open to speaking their mind. And the only swinging I enjoy is when I take my kids to the playground.

Perhaps this is why polygamist men in Utah are never in short supply of women to marry. I have always marvelled at why mollies are drawn to guys who are dangerous. My son has been dating a non member Swede for 8 months. Finally I asked her if she wanted to go to church and she was enthusiastic about attending (most Swedish women with the exception of Muslims have never attended a religious service). My son puts up a chauvanistic testosterone-governed image that reminds me of Turkish men I encountered while in Istanbul. Whether my son is in America, Sweden or when he visited Russia and Germany females flock to him. My guess is that women want some variety. Your typical Mollie probably has repressed desires coupled with the desire to be a bit wild at times -- kind of like when you take a Swede out of Sweden (they generally stop being part of The Borg Collective and open up and are fun to be with). This doesn't mean you have to be someone who violates the standards, but I will say that a collegue at work who knows my particular humor and non-conformist attitudes asked in a frustrated manner why all the single women at work flirt with me and want to always socialize. Well, if you refuse to be squeezed into a particular mold women find that fascinating. It's a lesson I am trying to teach the rest of my sons.

If Anthony is related to the gal they all might get the golden opportunity to appear on the Jerry Springer Show, especially if she's ever been an "exotic dancer". Then again, if her husband starts lloking kinda cute then the Rikki Lake show might be a possibility.
-
Anthony, she wants to date other "guys"? So uh, you can just be at the front of the line? Uh, what next, you are going to ask if there are any members who spend the holidays at Club Hedon?
-
Do you live in some part of Utah's "outer Mongolia" like Jenson? If so, move to Salt Lake and look for work. I have to admit that if you are 34 and never married that sends up red flags (gay?momma's boy? damaged goods, etc.) but doesn't have to. Either go onto an online dating service or get active in things that allow you to meet people. Try getting into a physical activity that isn't sports oriented like biking or running or rafting or swimming. I detest team sports myself.

Okay, amybe I am wrong, but if there are really adult LDS women wondering if wife swaping is okay to do then ...well, I hope I am not being too cynical. The thing is, we get new threads started frequently (generally dealing with sex it seems) by people with one or two posts under their belts. Then we never hear from them again. Other forums have policies that don't allow new members to start new threads until they have experience -- at least 10 or 20 replies in existing posts. Could we have this? This might get rid of what possibly are 13 year olds sitting around the computer and creating strange threads and then getting a good laugh at the idea that people really think they are real.

You don't know want to know what they do to people engaged in this sort of behavior in Turkey.

My Husband's Addiction To Pornography Is Killing Me
Fiannan replied to whatthe's topic in General Discussion
Strange, isn't it...apostles and prophets for years have even said that family limitation is so contrary to the LDS principle of eternal families that one's ability to reach exaltation could be at risk if you buy into the world's view of it, yet some tabloidish statement that holds no doctrinal significance whatsoever (body piercing) is on everybody's minds. Sorry, the urging of people to not get tatoos and piercings is in the same category as white shirts in sacrament. I have gone to the temple in jeans (when I just decided to stop while on a trip) and I have blessed sacrament with a bright sweater and no tie. The prophet has URGED people not to get these things done to your body due to society's views of it (just like in the 60s men were urged not to have long hair and beards if they were in the temple or bishops). However, the last time I was in the temple one of the women who was a temple missionary had a bunch of ear piercings (she was also in her 60s). I could go for a temple recommend and have just had a tatoo put on and there is nothing the bishop can do. Let's at least put things into proper perspective. -

Maybe you are right. I have friends who drink wine occasionally (they aren't LDS) but since drinking alcohol can be listed as a sin, even if they do not drink to get drunk, then maybe I need to get them to an AA meeting right away. I have no idea what the person in question's level of porn viewing is -- but I am sure that there are some LDS caught up in the anti porn hysteria (hey, it's one thing to condemn an action as moral or not it's another to start labeling things addiction) that think that if someone once in a great while looks at the stuff they are addicts. To do this actually trivializes what is true addiction as much as saying that people who get body piercings (which IS NOT a sin by the way) are in the same category psychologically as women who cut themselves. -
My Husband's Addiction To Pornography Is Killing Me

Another one of these "male addicted to porn" threads? Why is he addicted -- does he spend hours viewing the stuff? Does he substitute sex with his wife with auto-erotic activities? Or does he view the stuff occasionally -- like once or twice a month? Seriously, some people are addicted to porn, others view it occaionally and others once in a while. Of course, it is my hope that LDS people NOT view it at all (all people for that matter would make the world a nicer place) but just because a man or woman (young women are frequenting porn in numbers almost even with young men -- older women generally don't, but they were socialized in different manners) does not constitute addiction. Also, someone posted something that suggested that males are more visual. Yes, that is true to a degree. However, recent research suggests that females are more affected by viewing porn (it actually stimulates their brains in a comprehensive manner that is far greater than males). Also, for what it is worth, studies also show that women viewing porn show high stimulation to the action regardless of whether they are seeing images of male and female couples, just nude people or females doing naughty things with each other. The old "women just want to cuddle while men are beasts" has been blown away by neurological studies as well as psychological studies since the early 1980s. -
Anyone seen Borat? My son's young men's leader didn't like it but a few people I know have seen it and thought it was funny.

Terminating Deformed Babies: What Would Jesus Do?
Fiannan replied to Fiannan's topic in General Discussion
The Spartans measured children and also inspected their health. If they did not meet a certain quality at age 1 they were left in the open to die. I have no problem with eugenics if it is a policy to encourage people with desirable qualities to have bigger families (in Singapore the government pays college grads money to have children while they pay the uneducated NOT to have kids). I also feel that since sperm and egg banks only accept doners of excellent health and higher than average intelligence then it has a positive effect on society. However, I fear this policy could lead to Murder of babies. The Spartans were not Christian (that gives them some moral allowance), and while I understand that the Church of England's leadership probably isn't Christian either it is still something that seems to totally contradict the Bible -- and something that a body claiming to represent Christianity should not endorse. -
Taking 'made In China' To A Whole New Level

Something to think about is that probably most DVDs (like most of our clothing) is made in China. I would not suspect that a DVD bought from your source would be of an more inferior quality than one bought at Walmart. -

#1 question is -- are the DVDs of excellent quality?
