That's good. Hopefully they are taking good care of him. I'm sure he is being taken care of Shantress.....you know about guys and their dogs....they treat them like children a lot of the time.... And don't let the thought of "military" make you think that the dog will not fair out well.....most military men I knew have hearts of gold behind the cammies and guns. I wouldn't worry about the dog....he'll probably eat better than most of the men.

I think it is interesting that you have overlooked the word sufferings Sam....the "s" is plural which means more than one. Examples: Alma 21 9 Now Aaron began to open the scriptures unto them concerning the coming of Christ, and also concerning the resurrection of the dead, and that there could be no redemption for mankind save it were through the death and sufferings of Christ, and the atonement of his blood. And now for the New Testament: 2 Cor. 1: 5 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. Philip. 3: 10 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 1 Pet. 1: 11 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1 Pet. 4: 13 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. Just a few of the scriptures I found with the word "sufferings. I would agree with Curvette when she says There are many who thrill in trying to breakdown the core belief of the LDS faith, by attacking the little things that should make no difference at all. What difference should it make if we believe that Christ suffered for our sins in Gethsemane, as well as suffering for them on the cross? Very hard to imagine the paparazzi and the media chasing Christ around to give an exclusive on where and when the exact mode of suffering took place. We have to go by our faith and our own belief in what took place. It should be enough (I would think) that we, as a core group of Christians, believe that He suffered, He bled and died. (taken from a sacrement hymn). I still think that Christians should stand together as brothers (and sisters) in this world. Hand in hand, Catholics, LDS, RLDS, Methodists, Adventists, Lutherans, Evangelistics, Baptists, etc......and not worry about the little differences in beliefs. In closing this post, I would like to quote 1 Pet. 4: 16 which says: "Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf."

I don't know. I just got back from vacation two days ago and didn't look at the board but once while I was gone. He's been real good Kevin .....he's been on his "batst" behavior That sounds like a combination of "best" and "worst". Actually Bat...I was thinking of the combination of "bat" + "best" = "batst". But it was late, I was tired, and it was the best thing I could come up with at the moment Remember, I'm not much when it comes to original ideas

Gee Scott....you got the good drugs...and your'e not sharing? What kind of post was THAT?

well Jackvance...you asked for thoughts....you have gotten a few....and here's mine. I will agree with those who say that experience counts...but you have to find someone to give you the experience. I am seeing more and more high school students looking for jobs because 'mommy and daddy want them too', they don't have the first clue about responsibility or common sense about a lot of things. They are thrown into the work force to obtain experience from the hapless businesses they come in contact with. Which is great for those who need the teen age no brainers to do the menial tasks that basically anyone can do. I think that many employers look at those who have a year or two of college or tech school, over those who don't. Main reason is for perserverance and the willingness to try to better yourself. I am finding more and more people leaning towards the tech schools to gain the experience and the knowledge in the fields they want to specialize in. Like JohnDoe and the auto tech stuff. I used to think that tech schools were for the kids who couldn't make it to the college level.....but I have since changed my tune and think that a good tech school can help people get better jobs than just a general education degree will. It looks pretty on the wall, but it doesn't do much for the knowhow on specialized job requirements. And I agree, I think that college helps youth be able to deal with the job requirements of any position. Interviews, employee tests, training classes, recertification tests, all are based on knowledge and to some degree....intellienge. I also think that college helps the transition between the teenager and young adult in our youth. (of course...that depends on the college)

Well, there you go helgaboy...some real good advice from level minded posters (if I might add that :) )

Good question.....kind of how I saw things when I first came onto this board. I was really taken aback by some of the things I read by some posters on the board. Ask Bat..... if I was offended, I would let him know. Same as I would any other poster that ticked me off. Funny thing is, when I got to know the person behind the post....I wasn't offended anymore. (much anyway )I have stood up for some new posters who have come on board who have not met eye to eye with everyone's liking. I try to understand others perspectives and see behind their reasoning. Sometimes it helps to understand the sour notes or the sarcasm if you can see beyond the words. There have been some posters (no longer here) who were here mainly as a feeble attempt to reach out to connect with others. I think they needed help that we, as a board family, couldn't provide. Help that could only come from professionals; and the help from the Mighty One above. One in particular I remember....a young cry for help....and I just hope she is still alive in her journey to find someone to love. Sometimes it hurts to get to know the person....to know the depth and soul of an individual and then see them throw, or flitter, their lives away. Satan laughs...he's got another one to control.... awww but now I'm off track.... sorry....it's just sad to have seen good people go wrong. I will end by saying yes, I put up with a lot of LDS insults from others...newcomer on the board or at work, or in life, it doesn't matter. I counter with how I feel...and a lot of times it opens the door for my testimony. I talk to people, I listen to people....I've had people tell me things they wouldn't tell another living soul. But that is another story.....or two or three .....

toto~ I really don't know how old you are, but you seem to have a pretty good head on your shoulders :) You might tell your dad that how you feel being a "mormon" doesn't really have much to do with the coffee - tea thing. You have a testimony girl, share it with your dad. Let him know the YW values that you like, and let him see the part of your life that shines with the light of Christ. I think that he will understand somethings of what you will share with him. Sorry, too tired to think of anything else for you, good luck!

.....hmmmmm Bat respects MY beliefs, he doesn't believe my beliefs...but he respects my right to believe what I believe. John....I don't really mean to try to argue with you, I respect your candor most of the time, but I see things on a different level. I think that Bat expresses himself how HE see's things, how he feels about them personally. That is HIS testimony, how HE feels, how HE sees things. I will give him that right to be wrong as I see it....just as he gives us the right to be wrong as he sees it. My older boy became a member of the Catholic church, and we talk religion.... I don't agree with everything he tells me, I get upset sometimes, cause he's stubborn as mule, and refuses to see my side of anything. But I'm not telling him I don't love him anymore because he tells me I am wrong, I'm not going to stop being his mother because he thinks I'm brainwashed out of heaven. I'm too tired to try to make sense....hope I didn't screw it up to badly.

Awww come on J.Doe.... I'm not as young as you are.....if you said "groupie" I would have understood better..... I have grown up where posse means posse and not "A person's devoted groupies who follow them around singing their praises no matter how degenerate they are". Actually that would have been the last thing I would have thought. Even my children have not heard of posse used like that; maybe it's just a regional phrase. And I don't mind being included in Bat's "posse" as long as I don't see any fangs or horns coming out of him. You seem to make a pretty good sheriff, you make sense, you think from a logical standpoint, and you have a good handle on your faith. But Bat's a friend. And I don't have really bad people as friends....well I used to...but that's over and done with. (lol)

Hmmmm really looking for a lashing now aren't you? God....good Scientists....not so good Illogical superstitious lunatics....are still illogical superstitious lunatics! But since I think with logic, and am not superstitious, or a lunatic.....ok maybe a little lunatic :) but still I will believe in God......I'll give you the vampires K?

I like how Jenda put it....starting simple is probably the very best way to start. A 3 year old also deals well with pictures, and there are lots of pictures of Jesus and children....seeing a "picture" of Christ seems to help the reality issue. And I think that it helps to have pictures of Christ and children hanging on the wall somewhere for them to see daily....it helps them to remember with the gentle, loving, smiling pictures. No comments from the peanut gallery ....

OK funny boy.....This is a 3 year old....and we don't want to give the child nightmares OK?

Thanks to all who posted :) I transferred all to his guestbook that he has had set up for him. I understand he really enjoyed knowing that he had people pulling for him from all over. It's the simple things that we do that can bring a smile to someone's life. Thanks again for sharing a part of yourselves.....you guys are great! :) :)

Yes as a matter of fact I do! I remember laughing! :)I think that every mother will remember laughing....

YEEEEEE HAAAWWWWWWWI'm in a posse now! And knowing that a posse is a "good guy group" I smile....because you see I always wanted to be recognized for being a "good guy" For some unknown reason...I now feel honored. Sorry John Doe....Not much gets under my skin.....even the attempts to slam me. I've been slammed by some real good "christians" so you see .... nothing phases me anymore....I'm immune You see I am a sick, demented person who likes to see the good in people, and I will continue to defend those who I still see good inside. Sorry John.... I don't have to read or reply to anything I find offensive, I just ignore it.... and I don't have to blame Bat for everything...cause there are some replies from the lds folk that I don't accept so I ignore it. I am comfortable in my faith, so I can laugh at a lot of the humor...LDS, Baptist, Catholic, Jew...if we can't laugh at what others find humerous then we can grow very rigid in how we deal with others.

Whoa~ I didn't realize that at all.....what a slap in the face to the American athletes......Be ashamed of who you are? What a crock! So, we just relinquish our patriotism to make the IOC happy? Very sad. I read somewhere that Greece doesn't want the crowd provoked to hostile action....WHAT CROWD? I don't see a crowd...so many venues with their empty seats.... I think it's great that Team USA athletes are doing as well as they are..... I hope they do the best they can, and medal for their efforts. I hope and pray that they are safe in a country that is "concerned for their image" Maybe it is justice that sales are down and seats are empty.... I found this link where a U.S. Olympic official told CNN that " there is no ban on waving or displaying the Stars and Stripes " http://www.cnn.com/2004/SPORT/08/12/us.flagwaving/ but then I ask myself.....why am I not seeing any flags? Hmmmmmm?

Lindy is appalled and disconcerted thinking that Bat has been offended. I thought about leaving with him.....but then thought.....WAIT A MINUTE! I don't think I could survive being a Batite. I guess you guys are stuck with me for the time being Hey Bat! I thought about it.....truly I did!
