  1. I agree with Traveler... That it's both a matter of destiny and free will. I believe that God guides us in the direction we could go, but then leaves it up to us as to how much we will learn and experience. I was told we could never have children after we lost our first one in the 5th month of pregnancy (30 years ago), but we ended up having a son and then a daughter. We lost two more children. Then my daughter died when she was 16. Naturally, when you loose children, you question everything, including God's hand in it. Was it God's will? Why would God choose to take your children away from you? We've come to the conclusion that it's not because we were being punished. It's just part of our destiny and the destiny's of our children. I have no doubt I will see them all again and we all will have other lifetimes together, just as we have had past lives together. "If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand."
  2. Yes, I have. But the response was for me alone and probably no one else would relate to it.

  4. I take Effexor too, so I know what you mean. Do you get the brain zaps if you don't take it in time? That's what drives me nuts. But I know life is much worse for me if I don't take the meds. My daughter was bipolar and often talked about suicide... depending on her mood swings she was either totally against it or ready to do it. We found that talking about death and life and God and everything helped her tremendously. However, when she died, my first worry was that she had taken her life. But that was ruled out by both the medical examiner and coroner. I have had clinical depression since I was 19 and at the time I wondered if suicide was the answer. For me it was not. I don't condemn those who have, because I didn't walk a mile in their shoes, so I would never want to judge them.
  5. I agree. I tend to meditate, which slowly becomes a way to be a prayer of thankfulness.
  6. Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, apple pie with ice cream, white layer cake, creme brulee, key lime pie. I could give up most other foods for dessert.
  7. I've been addicted from the beginning too. And go through terrible withdrawal during the many months it's not on.....
  8. Not really any confusion. I just didn't want to take anything for granted. I've learned so much from this site.
  9. Thank you. Now that you describe it, it makes sense.
  10. Could you explain what a golden contact is?
  11. I put other in the poll. I consider myself to be a Child of God and that changes almost daily. I like to think it actually just evolves. I'm a student of Comparative Religions, and every time I learn something new, it often goes into my personal belief system. I hope I don't get banned for saying this.
  12. It's not to early to make plans for next year. In fact, if you want to get a hotel in town, it's a good idea to make reservations now.
  13. It was fun. I would guess there were at least 1,000 people who attended, about a third of the population of Forks. They had all kinds of things going on. Tours of the school in the classrooms where Bella had classes and the lunchroom, that were staged to look like Bella and Edward had been there. At the park, which is where we spent most of our time, where the mayor read a proclamation. There were two Twilight decorated birthday cakes, about a dozen vendors selling everything from jewelry to teeshirts, and music playing by a group called The Bella Cullen Project. They did a group picture that is on Fork's ForksForum webpage. Oh, and they also had a look alike contest for Bella, Edward and Jacob. We drove around and took pictures of the school, police station, and the hospital where there is a Dr. Carlisle parking sign. We couldn't find Bella's house or Edwards, but I guess some people did. In Lapush that night, there was a bonfire and native dancing, but we didn't go to that.
  14. Hello, I've mostly been a lurker at this wonderful forum, and I should have known you all would be talking about the Twilight books. I loved them all, with Breaking Dawn being my favorite book of all time. The Host comes in at a close second. I was fortunate to attend the Bella Birthday party in Forks on the 13th. It was a lot of fun.
  15. I did RCIA in 1980 and was a practicing Catholic for 15 years. It was a year long practice and very interesting.
  16. Thanks, I will go and look for that one. Thank you for the welcomes.
  17. Hello, I am a new member... non-Mormon, but very interesting in learning. I am also a genealogist which lead to me learn about what genealogy is so important to the LDS church. Thank you for letting me be here.
