  1. You dont have to be cool and outgoing to be a missionary. :) There are other missions. I knew someone that went on a work mission where he worked on building things. He was a young man. Older people often go on missions where they help with family history related tasks, give tours at various historical places, health missions, etc. Just a lot of different things that need done.

There is a usually a sheet of information pinned on the bulletin board in the foyer of most ward buildings if you wanted to just look at that for information.

There is so much that can be done. :D

  2. My point is that the whole thing doesnt make sense to start with. Why did the officials think it was their precognitive to even give any orders in the case at all? Is that typical in England?

If they feel they can give orders on personal choices between a father and her daughter then it follows they would feel free to jail her. They all ready seem to have shown their lack of respect for personal freedom of choice.

  3. My daughter, Talisyn, has interesting hair colors. Usual a burgundy red but occasionally blue or purple or whatever. She is active. Not a teenager either. Her daughter has some interesting hair colors occasionally as well.

As far as missions go, no one is required to go on a mission. Also there are many kinds of missions available for those who do not feel able to go on a standard mission. As a member just talk to the bishop if you are interested.

Have you read the Word of Wisdom? It has a lot about eating and health habits in it.

  4. Women who stay at home to raise kids but get their degree are following the prophets advice of being prepared. It is very difficult to get the degree after the husband dies and she has kids that need care plus a minimum wage job to get food on the table. Best to be prepared.

That said there is more than one way to be educated. Even without classes there are these little things called books and internet. Women have the opportunity to chose how they wish to be educated and how they will use it. We all have that right.

  5. I was thinking it cant be ironic that bombs at the finish lines take away the ability of people to be able to run. It is an added sickness to the whole thing. Those injured were most likely to be the friends and family of the runners.

I will never understand how people can do these evil things. And even worse is 8 victims are known to be children, not including one of the dead is a 8 year old child. These people are following evil.

  6. I have never seen satan but i have felt him and it is something I do not like to talk about. It messed up an entire year of my life trying to get that memory out of my mind enough to sleep.

It wasnt me that opened that door by the way. I was just there.

My testimony bearing is never going to include that I know satan exists because even typing this post makes me want to throw up.

Ok just wanted to say that he does make himself known and now I am going to go read about chicken raising to clear my mind.

  7. Wingnut, when I saw the word agitate in your post, I realized that is what bothers me so much about the group agitating for the priesthood. We do not need agitators in the church. We need prayers and doers and people who trust in God. Agitation is not a Godly thing in my opinion. It is disorganized at its very base and uses anger as motivation. Are those traits of Godliness?

  8. Then would it be too much to ask for you and selek to stop ascribing to me beliefs and traits I do not have? I'll make this as clear as I possibly can:

I do not consider myself a brave non-conformist.

    I am not an arksteadier.

    I am not an agitator.

I do not "fancy [myself] more "enlightened" than the Brethren."

I do not "view this as a victory over the Church."

I do have a testimony of the Gospel and of the Church.

I'm only participating now because I believe I have a right to defend myself when people say things about me (either directly or indirectly) that are not true.

EDIT: No, scratch that, after this I'm done. I've made what I feel clear, I think.

Whats an arksteadier? Wouldnt steadying an ark be a good thing? Or not?

  9. It is nice that she prayed. /shrug. I am curious how many who dont follow the Salt Lake tribune and/or internet gossip even noticed. I wouldnt have. Its really not all that exciting who prays. Women pray in church all the time. I did notice she was nervous to start and became less so as she went along. It was a good prayer and said what was needed to say.
