Sorry to sound confused but expecting first child and a Subaru Legacy isn't big enough? Isn't that their little station wagon? I understand that those are excellent cars.
Why the need for a bigger car with one child? I thought maybe three kids and needed the room.
Just curious.

When I was a full time missionary in Puerto Rico I served as a Branch President of a dependent branch. We collected tithing, didn't open it and took it to the Branch President of the branch we were dependent on. That dependent branch is now a ward.

That is several weddings that have happened as a result of people meeting here on the site. I was chatting with Ursula about Clark the other day.

If you are driving I would stay off the strip for lodging. Green Valley Ranch or Red Rock come to mind. If you are going and can go during the week you will save a lot on the cost of a room but some shows are dark during some weekdays. You can stay off the strip and drive the 10-15 miles to get down there and be with the crowds when you want. Luxor, Bellagio, Wynn, etc are rather expensive.
I agree that the Cirque shows are well worth seeing. Mystere is the oldest one and least expensive. Ka and Love (Beatles show) are newer and much more expensive.
There is a shop just to the left of the M&M store on the strip where you can purchase same day tickets for many shows at half price.
Those are some suggestions. Yes it is hot in July but the casinos all have AC and once the sun goes down 100 degrees isn't so bad.
The Hoover dam is a great thing to go see and with the new span over the Colorado River to AZ there is no traffic on the dam so it is a lot more fun to visit.

It goes from a stake level up to SLC. Decision is made there based on recommendation of Stake Presidency. There are certain levels needed to grow or shrink. I don't know them any longer.

The reasons between ward and branch are usually leadership. If there are sufficient active members to support a ward it is a ward. Staffing for all auxiliaries etc. It does happen but not common for a ward to become a branch. Very common that branches become wards as membership grows.

When I am training I use BodyforLife.com The key is to have a program and stick to it. Great results.

Probably because truth doesn't make very good entertainment. Make a joke of someone and it does. This gets me on my other soapbox. Why is it today that every father figure in tv shows has to be a buffoon?
Where are the good, smart, wholesome Fathers.
Not the characters played by Tim Allen, Jim Belushi, George Lopez and I could go on and on.

Missionary lifestyle is very goal oriented. Since you have been home have you set goals? Going to school, attending Institute. Participating in all the Single Adult activities? My guess is you got home, got in a relationship for eight months and didn't develop any other friends.

I hope not. I have seen Big Love. Not any representation of current LDS life. I doubt even of pioneer LDS life.
What I do think is that people would rather sit and watch a tv program instead of opening a book and reading or going online and researching from an LDS source about what LDS believe. Oh well I can only influence people one at a time.

I love the fellowship found in the LDS church from both a giving and receiving end. I believe it is what you make it.

While physical intimacy is very important in a marriage I would say that demonstrating affection is just as important if not more important. Yes there may be physical or medical reasons for a lack of physical intimacy. There should not be a reason or explanation for lack of affection.

I found those can things at Costco some years ago. Not sure if they are still available there but they work great and the sizes are adjustable.

Do you believe then that the Prodigal Son is a representation of afterlife? I think that it is an example of one who still comes back but in mortality.

I did not read all the posts in this thread but I have always had trouble believing that God has only a pass/fail for getting in to heaven. As one of my friends said "I don't believe in a God that only rewards the fast learners".
An interesting thought.
