A recent poll showed that over 50% of nurses in their child bearing years are not getting the H1N1 shot. My daughter is in that group. She got he seasonal shot but won't be getting the other. All the nurses at her facility feel the same way. I've never had a flu shot in my life and the last time I had the flu I was 15. If I were to die of the flu, so what? We all have to die from something.

I get about ten different college football stations including Big 10 network and others, but I can't get that one either. One of the announcers on ESPN, while talking about this game, just paid Utah a great compliment. He said if all the cities were like Provo and Salt Lake City it would be a better world.

WEEK 8 OCTOBER 23 1. Alabama 2. Florida 3. Texas 4. USC 5. Cincinnati 6. Boise State 7. Iowa 8. Miami 9. LSU 10. TCU Last week took it's toll. Alabama replaces Florida on top. Virginia Tech and Ohio Sate are gone after both lost. No top 10 matchups this week, but there weren't any last week and look at the changes.

I always thought women considered Wally Cox a Hunk:)

Only one upset in the top 10 this week and it was my (sniff, sniff) Buckeyes. They must have thought since Perdue was 1-5 they didn't need to practice last week. There were close calls. #1 Florida won by three as did #3 Texas(Red River Rivalry).#6 USC and #5 Boise State by only one touchdown #4 Virginia Tech went down also, but not to someone 1-5.

Thanks for your service. I'm a midwesterner. What teams are in the Red River Rivalry?

I resemble that remark!

What branch are you in Godless?

I'd pay a full ticket price just to hear Groban sing "You Lift Me Up".

Since you're in the orignal land of the English language, I'll take your word for it. Afterall, my degrees are in history and political science, not English:)

If you could tune in anyone (music) on the radio, whom would it be? Many of you have probably never heard of my favorite group. It was from my teenage years in the early 60's. The Four Seasons. The were the third most popular group of the 60's decade. The Beatles were, of course, number one. Two was the Supremes. Four was the Beach Boys. They were later billed as Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. A few years ago Valli had a concert in Columbus, Ohio. I called the ticket office and asked the young lady what time they opened so I could get there to get a front row ticket. She said " I don't think you have to worry about that. I've never heard of him". I didn't know if I show feel insulted or amused. By the way, it was a sellout with standing room only. What group or individual would you pay to see today?

We all remember where we were and what we were doing when great moments in American Histrory altered world events. I was sitting in my 11th grade Latin class when a boy from the office came in and announced that President Kennedy had been assassinated in Dallas I was sitting in my parents living room when Neil Armstrong stepped down and said "That's was small step for man and a giant leap for mankind". I had just arrived at school and was standing outside when I heard the United States had been attacked by Muslim terrorists. I was sitting in my favorite chair drinking a cup of hot chocolate (with milk) when I heard Barack Obama had won the Nobel Peace Prize.

No real upsets last week. Florida was favored to defeat LSU and they did. Texas and Alabama flipped. Everyone moved up because of LSU loss. Miami showed up this week. WEEK 7 OCTOBER 17 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. Texas 4. Virginia Tech 5. Boise Sate 6. USC 7. Ohio State 8. Cincinnati 9. Miami 10. LSU No top 10 playing each other this week. If any of these lose it will be by upset.

Roamin Catholic:o They should have taken one away for that:)

As I posted before, Wisconsin has beaten Ohio State 3 of the last 4 games in Ohio. So. #9 may fall also. If so, I'll return when my tears dry.

I thought that was Greek. It was Greek to me:) It really is a shame we aren't required to learn other languages in school like many other countries do. I took Latin in high school, but can't find any old Roman's to talk too.

We live on a farm. When I come in my shoes usually don't smell of rose petals. I remove the shoes.:) -

When my daughter was still living at home my wife and she had a rule "PUT THE SEAT DOWN", but it never matttered much to me:):):) -
Evidently I just didn't understand the criteria for the award. And here, all these years, I've wondered why Reagan didn't get one for ending the cold war and bringing down the "wall".:) If he had only stayed a Democrat:):) And isn't it ironic that the namesake of the "peace" prize, old Alfie, is the same guy that invented dynamite. Maybe when he saw all the destruction his invention caused, he opted for peace.

Reports are this is a slap in the face at President Bush for using military action after 911 which has been condemned by the committee ever since he did it. So, we can truthfully say about this award "IT'S BUSH'S FAULT".

I agree sixpacktr. I watch baseball, but not once football starts. I don't even know whose in the playoffs right now. However, I do know it is not the Reds.

I agree with Mahone and think it's remarkable that people will go to McDonald's and pay a buck or more for a cup of lukewarm chocolate WATER. These are probably the same folks that pay a dollar for a bottle of water that was drawn from a tap somewhere.

We'll be celebrating 38 years of marriage in December. We're expecting to realize we're in love any day now.:)
