  1. Wow Justice I don't know what to say. That is life changing! One of those that puts things into perspective. You blessed the she was not called home! Thanks for sharing!!!
  2. I have wondered the world, the U.S. made great strides in technology, medicine and the building of the great world that started back in the turn of the last century. Much during the world war's, the depression and shortly after. What great sacrifices did the mothers make during those times! Many never to see their sons return from the war. Were people better back then? I don't know for sure. I know things like racism and bigotry as well as spousal abuse were more prevalent. Hard to say.
  3. Absolute true! I think most feel so too.... that is I think those in the later years of life. I remember when I was say 30. I thought I was doing well. Doing HT'ing, callings, scriptures, temple etc. But I have come to realize this in not what were really down here for. Well that is but it's just the beginning. Humility I think is key! Accepting anything that comes our way gladly and willing. This can be extremely difficult. I look at Elder Maxwell as a good example. Truly talented and truly humble! Also Elder Eyring. Humility brings power that can not be acquired any other way. Just think of the trials the Savior bore and the humility gained. Line upon line. What does that mean line upon line? Just knowledge? No much more.
  4. Me too! I wonder how many feel this way throughout their lives?
  5. So is repentance wanting change or acting out change?

  7. Same talk: Have we here in the forum had that witness? If not this should be our greatest desire and coarse.
  8. The alcoholic who is weeping may already want change. You may wake up one day and say today I'm going to change and do it. So yes it's acting out of change. That's the key the acting. Many time we may have a change moment and ignore it. That's what we are faced with everyday. The acting or the doing the Lord will. I think will have change moments all the time. It's the HG.
  9. The sinner has a paradigm shift. He comes to want change. But I'm not sure I'm following yet.
  10. I really like this! So far the was Elder Christofferson talks kinda reminds me of Bruce R. His address to me really was powerful. My nephew who's on a mission wrote home "wow that was powerful stuff" "Strong Christians" are the members on a decline? If so then why do we continually hear "wow the youth of today are the cream of the crop and have been saved for these last days". If they are the cream of the crop and we are on a decline then what is happening to them in adulthood? I'm not sure we are on a decline in the church though. Any thoughts?
  11. The first thing that comes to my mind here is we are commanded by God to do many things. (The ten commandments for example) and we either obey or we don't. Wha'ts so special about this situation? We have a hard time obeying and many times we don't. The same can be said about this situation. We obey or we dont. Many times I do not. That's agency and that's what it's all about. Thou shall not steal - Hmmm that's a nice pen I'll take it home from work. Thou shall kill Laban - Hmmm that makes me feel uncomfortable all pass. Thou shall keep the sabbath day holy - There's a rock concert on tv tonight and I'm going to watch it! What's the difference here? What's the point of this thread? Is it because it seems to be a contradiction in commands? Thou shall not kill and the killing of Laban?
  12. Ok I see that knowledge does not supersede faith as I thought. To have all faith is the crowning of one to Godhood. bytor2112 that is the best commentary of portions of "lectures of faith"! Thanks.
  13. My understanding of what faith is must not be complete according to the above. Explain how God has faith. I'm not trying to disprove here. I was the one that brought up this question for my learning not to disprove.
  14. Intelligences obey God because of their love and respect for Him. This intelligence is basically light and is in all things. All things are governed or obey God not by his faith but because of their respect and love for him.
  15. Still why would God need faith as Elder McConkie say's he has?
  16. Yes, this is how it is done. No need of faith.
  17. Why would God need Faith? His all knowing.
  18. I have wondered that myself?
  19. Hey has anyone else noticed that you can now view the Priesthood session from last conference online. This is a first I believe! 179th Annual General Conference, April 2009
  20. This is going to be interesting! If you do a blog in order to control comments please post the link or pm me so I can follow!!!!
  21. Maybe they would do that if you are needed somewhere or something like that.
  22. Hmmmmm, after reading Elder McConkie definition of faith my above statement isn't complete. He is all knowing why does he need faith??
  23. I think you have hit it on the head! "Faith is acting out of less than perfect knowledge" Perfect!
  24. Pretty sure that's her.
