Dr T, I was saying my mom was catholic, now she's mormon. But she still likes some of the catholic's way of doing things...hence a catholic mormon!

A good way to get started is to start with a gratitude journal. A friend suggested this to me, you write in it everyday one thing you are greatful for. Before you know it, you end up writing more and more.

Thats what I do! I have an actual book to write in!

I love Jasons oppositison, like Lindy it helps me think and firm up my belief. Are there any that may be overly critical because he makes them think and it scares them? Just wondering..................

President Wilfrod Woodruff was an amazing journal keeper. As a result, we now have a lot of valuable info on church history. There is an LDS reccomendation to keep a journal or "a book of rememberance". I am doing better at journal keeping. MOstly it is notes in my dayplanner, but a lot of time I pull out the ole journal. Should be interesting for my posterity, hopefully!

Does this sentence imply that Mexican, Indian/Thai, Korean are not healthy? Just wondering. No! Each class was chosen by someone to host. One lady wants to do a "healthy"cooking class. My question is where is the good ole south cooking class with enough fat and grease to make you into a giant paperweight..LOL!

If I remember correctly, when I talked to carguy, he was taking discussions because his girlfriends parents would not allow them to date unless he was a member. Her parents from what I gathered were very strict this rule. They seemed very harsh and unless he was immediately was baptized, he was not good enough. Carguy-not all members of the church are that way, their actions do not represent the church. While a lot of LDS families prefer their children to date LDS, not all do. I think a dating age of 16 is appropiate no matter what religion. Dr T-there are no mandates for dating. There is the recommendation to date when you are 16 and to date members. The theory is you marry who you date, thus date members, marry members. The ultimate goal is to be married in the temple where both parties have to be in good standing with the church. It is usually individual parents decisions on how they're children date.

Im not sure if that was directed towards me or not. I was answering Dr t's question about the differences in feeling away from God or close to him. I wasnt trying to be EVIL or negative in my thoughts. However your post is very confusing so Im not quite sure what you mean?!

I have always wanted to go to the UK, especially London. Although I hear Scotland is simply beautiful! My good friend lived in Surrey, England for half of her life. She actually refuses to become an american citizen! LOL! She's lived here for 35 years now!
