  1. Correction: I am a truthseeker; a truthseeker seeks [and finds] the truth. Are you speaking of the Christians who come to a forum such as this and attempt to impose their beliefs onto the LDS?
  2. So which is the reason you're here?
  3. That's a very good post, Soulsearcher. I agree with much of what you said; however, if it were me, I would think it a waste of time and energy to frequent an anti-LDS board for the purpose of preaching to people who are unreceptive and/or hostile toward our Church.
  4. Once, I was called as the visiting teaching leader in my ward. One of the duties, according to the Relief Society president, was to visit all of the sisters who had not been visit taught by their visiting teachers during the month. I told the R.S. president that if she wished to do that, it was fine, but I wasn't doing the visiting teachers' job every month. She said, "Well, if you're not going to do it, then I'm not going to do it either!" My formula was to put visiting teaching highlights in the R.S. bulletin each month, to inspire the sisters to go visiting teaching. We averaged nearly 100% visiting teaching in our ward, without either myself or the R.S. president making up any missed visits during the month. Years later, the R.S. president told me that she was called as the stake visiting teaching leader and had employed many of the ideas I had as the ward visiting teaching leader. The point of the story is, that when we follow the spirit in our callings, we may be inspired to do what might not ordinarily be accepted by others. :)
  5. "The anti-LDS attempting to convince the LDS that the Church is untrue is as fruitless as the LDS attempting to convince the anti-LDS that the Church is true." - The Aristotles (you may quote us)
  6. God said those who are not for Him are against Him. If one is against God, it would stand to reason that they are working for the other guy!
  7. Most wars are caused by the irreligious, attempting to impose their self-perceived authority and control over another. I have found that most arguments are caused by the same type of people. The irony is how surprised the war monger is when Christians fight back!
  8. You mean like me/us? LOL
  9. Just wondering who the members are with a thought or two...LOL Where is the love? I have seen very little in this forum, sorry to say.
  10. (re: Wisdom)
  11. Sorry, but that percentage sounds like a myth.
  12. Since this is the general discussion on the topic, feel free to share how you "feed the good wolf". :-) I had a foster Indian brother, and he had reoccuring nightmares of being chased by a wolf.
  13. Hey, Fiannan...is this the reason your mother-in-law gave up the cat? LOL
  14. Some people strain at a gnat and swallow a camel. LOL I think that's a pretty silly thing to complain about.
  15. Just calling it like it isn't. False information again, Grumpy. TOP 10 LARGEST NATIONAL CHRISTIAN POPULATIONS Rank Nation Number Percent 1 USA 224,457,000 85% Source for these Christian statistics: Ash, Russell. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints isn't a cult; it's a Church. :) You mean like you and Snow, Grumpy?
  16. Thank you, begood... me too! :)
  17. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
  18. 'MrsS'...you are way off "bias" here. That is false (in regard to Syble and I). :) The correct English is: "As have the Aristotles" (plural)... another falsehood! How, exactly, are LDS supposed to come across? We have been taught to be meek...not weak. If you're lookin' for a cat fight, sister, you can keep on lookin'!
  19. Of course if goes without saying to not put the food and water near the litter box. You can keep it in the same room, some distance away. P.S. The "confine a cat" advice came from the Arizona Humane Society.
  20. Rah! Rah! Rah! WoooooHooooo! You go sister!!!
  21. This is your statement: "Those of you who are LDS, really are the worst. I am surprised by your un-Christ like attitudes." As a member of the LDS Church, your remark doesn't resemble me. ;-) If you make blanket statements which are untrue and unfounded, then you should expect that those who do not fit your mold will respond accordingly!
  22. Jason, since when is it your responsibility to make judgement calls about anyone? Jason, since when is it your responsibility to make judgement calls about anyone? Actually, I am numbered amongst the 85-90% of the Christian majority in America. I am also numbered amongst an 11 million member Church...11 million people is not classified as a cult. In regard to changing people, I like this version of the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the Serenity to accept the people I cannot change; Courage to change the one person I can change, and that is me; And the Wisdom to know the difference. Your perception of me is, as always, totally flawed. Thanks, Syble! The feeling is mutual. :) Methinks you have evened the score a bit...actually quite a bit...which makes some uneasy. ;-)
  23. Yes, some prisoners are wrongfully imprisoned. And some people are falsely accused.
  24. You've lost this argument, Jason...time to give it up. Thanks, Syble! Welcome back. :) When I was a 12 step group leader, many could not conceive of the idea of a Heavenly Father; instead they embraced nature as their Higher Power. Syble is totally cool! And very nice!! It's kind of a bummer that others can't see it.
