  2. Incidentally, the U.N. found WMD, which they confiscated and buried. (re: AOL News)
  3. This bears reiterating: WHO FATHERED AMERICA? In recent years, it has become popular for secular humanists, atheists, and other "free thinkers" to claim that the Fathers of our country were not Christians or religious people after all, but at most deists, atheists, or secularists. Some even go so far as to suggest that several were more addicted to French Enlightenment philosophy than they were to Christianity. Nothing could be further from the truth! Of the fifty-five men who wrote and signed the U.S. Constitution of 1787, all but three were orthodox members of one of the established Christian communions: approximately twenty-nine Anglicans, sixteen to eighteen Calvinists, two Methodists, two Lutherans, two Roman Catholics, one lapsed Quaker and sometime-Anglican, and one open Deist--Dr. Franklin who attended every kind of Christian worship, called for public prayer, and contributed to all denominations. 4. We can use the internet for good or for evil; no hypocrisy here. ;-)
  5. Conditions which justify entering a war: 1) An attempt to dominate and to deprive another of his free agency; 2) Loyalty to his country; 3) Defense of a weak nation that is being unjustly crushed by a strong, ruthless one The war in Iraq is justified based upon these conditions. My 2 second cousins and my husband's 2 nephews are all serving in Iraq.
  6. I think this quote best describes it: "Christianity ought to receive encouragement from the state...we are not to attribute this prohibition of a national religious establishment (in the First Amendment) to an indifference to religion in general, and especially to Christianity, which none could hold in more reverence than the framers of the constitution..." - Joseph Story, appointee to Pres. James Madison
  7. Very well stated, Ray...and of course, I agree with you wholeheartedly!
  8. Well, that's the whole point, in a nutshell. This wouldn't happen in a Christian nation!

  10. Don't you mean "old" Mexicans?? New Mexico is within the United States! BTW, in regard to "the wall" between us and Mexico, the Mexicans are now passing out maps to show ppl the way in. (I think the drug tunnel has been closed. LOL) Clinton was worthless, and did more harm to this country by sending the wrong messages to the youth, in particular. And his wife isn't any better! I think turning Iraq into a crater is the very last resort to ridding the world of terrorists.
  11. To strain at a gnat and swallow a camel... I agree.
  12. The problem with being open minded is that all your brains can fall out.

  22. Why, do you have something to hide? "We can leave the spies to the FBI, but learning how our enemies are trying to subvert us is everybody's job." - Prophets, Principles and National Survival p. 247
  23. "The best evidence, which I have seen, that the current patriotic movement is wide, deep, and determined, is not in my correspondence files--but in the spectacle of the frenzied attack which the whole liberal-left-wing is currently making on American patriots. The liberals are scared: that's why they use lies, distortion, mis-quotations, guilt by association, nasty labels, and ugly innuendoes in their all-out campaign to discredit the 'super patriots' and 'extremists'." (Dan Smoot) The present anti-anti-communist line is: criticism of socialism is criticism of countries like Sweden with its socialistic government and that efforts against communism create disunity. The claim is that it divides our people and therefore should be discouraged. Many of our peoople--some in high places whose influence is far-reaching--fall for this anti-anti-communist line of reasoning. That we might face up properly to such a campaign of lies and name calling, we should accept the advice of Thomas Jefferson who warns us as follows: "If we suffer ourselves to be frightened from our posts by mere lying, surely the enemy will use that weapon...The patriot, like the Christian, must learn that to bear revilings and persecutions is a part of his duty; and in proportion as the trial is severe, firmness under it becomes more requisite and praiseworthy." Certainly, a true American cannot have too much patriotism. Surely Americans who have respect for our traditions, who support our freedoms and are willing to fight to preserve them have been called patriots from the very beginning of our nation. (Ezra Taft Benson, 1962, The Red Carpet, p.197-9) re: PROPHETS, PRINCIPLES AND NATIONAL SURVIVAL
