That makes sense. :)

Wow. Fellow Survivor fans. I only saw the last 15 minutes, but like many of you have indicated, the looks on the faces of Galou was awesome. There sure has been a swing of fortunes here. Jeff at one point in the season had called Foa Foa one of the worst tribes in the game since they had lost so many challenges. Yet, it looks like they may be in the driver's seat at this point. I mean, which is worse, losing so many challenges or having your team voted off by the minority tribe that lost so many challenges. All of this has made this season one of the more entertaining seasons in a while. At least, for me it is. :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I have often been glad that I am not really, really, ridiculously good looking. So often, I notice that the people who I know that have been blessed with exceptional good looks and wealth from an early age, take a hit on the personal development scale. It seems as if they learn to rely on these blessings to get by on life and it becomes a bit of a crutch for them. Not that I am putting anyone down or saying that all people blessed in this manner will act this way. I am just glad that I didn't fall into either category. I know that I would not be in the situation that I am now - for which I am very happy to be in. :)

There have been some really great comments: inner beauty, healthy being attractive, and more. To this I would add, that I find my wife to be the most attractive woman on the planet. I may not find her every feature to be perfect, but that doesn't prevent me from taking a long look at her and appreciating how lucky I am to have married her. In fact, some of the features that she finds to be flaws, are the ones I like the best. Maybe because they are so uniquely her. :)

Did you give the U-google-ee for them?

In many portions of the world this is still true. I had some friends from Columbia that kidded with me that I wasn't over weight, I was "Prosperous." Indicating, that being wealthy enough to eat on a regular basis was very attractive to women in a poor country. :)

Sad, but seemingly too true. This has become even more apparent to me since I married. My wife's family pushes celebrating the real meaning of Christmas - as of course most of the LDS I know do this as well. Focusing on the birth of the Savior rather than Santa Claus and singing snowmen. That change of focus has really brought a much deeper and personal meaning of the holiday for me. I hate to see this diminished by the critics of Christianity.

I realize that I am a little late getting in on this discussion, but I only joined up yesterday. My serious answer to this would be that our modern day prophets indicate that the time is getting very near. And that is the evidence I would put the most confidence in. Beyond that, I think much of it is relative. There is much wickedness, but when hasn't there been. There are a lot of disasters, and they seem to be increasing, but people could argue that it is no more than mankinds increased ability to detect and record them. What does seem measureable is the decline in Christian memeberships. The percentage of Christian followers has decreased and certainly that is a measure of the increased wickedness. I would also include the declining morality that we see exhibited. How much of what we see on tv would have been allowed twenty years ago. And certainly the people in the 50's would have been shocked at what is permitted today. I have done some research on the topic for a story I am writing and many of the early LDS leaders discuss the corrosion of the Constitution as one of the signs. I think several of the posts in this thread indicate some evidence of this coming about. I believe that the current administrations attempts to halt gun sales and their war on Foxnews are both anti-constitutional. Then, as has also been mentioned, there are some positive signs; like the reforming of the Nation of Israel and the teaching of the Gospel to the Lamanite people, and the restoration of the Church. I think one of the real important signs that it is almost upon us will be when the order is given to rebuild the temple in Israel. I love this topic. It is one I enjoy discussing with my friends. Hopefully there will be more to be discussed in this thread. :)

Which book? The eleventh book in the Old Testament or from the New Testament. Or would it be the first (1) book and first (1) chapter of either, using the eleventh verse from it? And would the number of words have any significance. Maybe like the eleventh word from each verse in the eleventh chapter. :)

I hadn't thought of that before, but I will now. Very interesting concept. :)

Thanks for the answers. I thought the "other man's wife" might have been along the same lines. But it sounds as if there are not specific arrangements made in the pre-life - correct me if I'm wrong. In some cases, mine being one of them, promises are made to marry a specific individual in this life. I was just curious if there was a similar situation in the Jewish beliefs. :)

I lean towards that belief as well. All of this had to start somewhere; it can't continually regress as you say. Why not start with our Heavenly Father as anywhere else. Although, either way, I don't think it matters much. :)

Interesting. I think this runs similar to our beliefs, which is that through baptism we are adopted into the family of Israel. I am fascinated with the many similarities that I am seeing from your posts. :)

Congrats. And I am glad that we get movies like this once in a while. I love going to the theater, but so often there is little worth seeing. :)

Excellent, thank you both.

Zech, any idea if thekabalist is posting over here?

Definately. Definately yeah.

Thank you. Any suggestions for which thread might be a good one to start with? :)

Woot! Dude, glad to see you. :)

The forum suggests that as a newcomer I introduce myself. I am RanMan. Switched over here at the suggestion of a friend on another forum so that I could continue the interesting discussion that wasn't permitted there. So hello to everyone. If you have any questions for me - ask. Ran :)
