  1. Welcome Cory, I hope you engage and enjoy discussions here. I will assume you join this site to gain an honest understanding regarding our faith. Would you mind sharing some of the questions you have regarding the LDS faith? What topics do you find of particular interest? So go ahead and feel free to ask. We may not have all the answers, but will do our best to give an accurate response. Best regards, RT
  2. The world really really messed this one up they are headlong in swallowing one world government with "Gog" for their leader. What a wakeup call they will have when they found out they should have selected "God". Maybe they forgot how to spell???
  3. You really hit the nail on the head with the above comments. I agree with you completely. We see their tactic clearly. Do you have any suggestion how one can awaken a trinitarian to recognize the flavor of their tactic in a constructive manner?
  4. Some refer to this earth as being made up from fragments of other failed worlds. Can anyone cite any recorded revelations to substantiate that premise? Man was made in the image of God. We are all spirit children of God. I know of no prototypes. I know of no prototype worlds. Is there any basis for claiming this world is in any manner different from all other worlds created? Has not the same things done in this world been the same pattern and scope and tests that millions of other worlds have had to face and trials and tests to face? Is there any reason to doubt that an adversary performed a similar function to the first man and woman in other worlds? Is there any reason to doubt that those spirit children of God who likewise kept their first estate and were sent to other worlds must face the same trials and tests that we do? I ask these things because sometimes I feel we overlook the fact that the creative process is a never ending work in progress. Fathers works are endless. His work and glory has been, is now and will forever be to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of all of His children, past, present and future.
  5. No there is enough Spam for everyone on the internet! LOL!
  6. Dear Akita, Perhaps I need to clarify my position. I believe that both storage and purification means are important. We should never neglect either. I believe we should be self sufficient and capable of sustaining our life needs in the face of any and all emergencies. Both short or long term. We ought to give careful heed to both biblical prophetic and latter day prophetic warnings as evidenced in part below. Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Near the end of Christ earthly ministry he proclaimed the following solemn warning regarding the events to occur in the last days. Matthew 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. We are admonished to "stand in holy places". It is just possible that one such place where all men and women can so stand is in their well prepared homes. The scriptures state among other things that "they shall see an overflowing scourge; for a desolating sickness shall cover the land." This desolating sickness that will cover the earth could be a chemical/biological warfare agent, but more likely is very possibly radiation poisoning resulting from nuclear war detonations. People can survive the effects of fallout if they could safely remain in their homes for two or three months. For those who failed to prepare, the mere leaving the safety of their home to seek food or water could expose them to terminal doses of radiation. In other words by failing to prepare, they may sign their own death warrant. I do not wish to portray an alarmist impression, but rather a picture of peace and survival that all can benefit therefrom. If we would but review and heed the message of some of the last talks given by the late Elder Bruce R. McConkie you might observe several very clear prophetic and preparatory warnings given in this regard. Have a wonderful prepared day!
  7. Dear Akita, Although a means of purifying water may be important, it is not a substitute for storing water. Have the brethren ever suggested simple purification means in lieu of storing? As a hint you might consider the prophesies in the book of Revelation pertaining to the last days, wherein the waters would be made bitter, even turned into blood as was done in Egypt anciently by Moses. After carefully reviewing what has been prophesied by the apostle John, you may want to reconsider the concept of STORING WATER.
  8. Dear Hill-Billy, Thanks for your OP. These real tough 55 gal poly-urethane drums are low in cost. Also 1 gal. and 1/2 gallon empty juice containers are very rugged and for some, may be more easily stored and easy to manage than heavy 55 gal. drums. Wood may not be readily available for many people. Propane is possibly a far more preferred fuel. Many municipalities permit as large as 500 gallon tanks. In rural locations much larger tanks can be used. A lot of cooking can be done even on a 100# or even a 20# propane tank when using a good 2 burner camp stove stove. Most people use these little 2 burner units with the expensive disposable 2# canisters. Many stores have very inexpensive adapter kits that allow direct connection to larger propane tanks. Propane can be stored indefinitely, is clean burning and can also be used to operate generators so equipped for LPG use. As a safety suggestion all fuel supply hoses should where possible be stored away from sunlight or be sure weather resistant materials should be preferred. At any rate they should be examined yearly to check for any hose deterioration. If this fuel as with any other fuel if used for heating all safety ventilation requirements should be complied with. Potty's are also available in fold out seats or 5 gallon bucket seats with either type using plastic kitchen garbage bags. Not the most perfect, but either sure beats squatting in minus 45 degree storms! Contents in the bags are easily stored and disposable. I hope the above will be helpful.
  9. I would have to second Maureen's thought! BTW Kerry, FYI barbequeing is sanctioned for only 12 months out of the year. There is nothing like great rib eye or tenderloin on a cold day in January! I'm going for blackened Alaskan halibut and salmon also this week. LOL!
  10. Dear margin of error, You are certainly entitled to your opinion along with any margin of error. I people continue to try diet plans that don't work then they become victims of circular reasoning. " If you always do what you have always done. You will always get what you have always got." I also find a great many church members that are also afraid to step outside their little comfort zone and as a result they never seek and search the deep things of God. You profess to claim that rapid weight loss is destructive of good health...... I remind you that I have had careful physical examinations prior to, during and after my weight loss regimen and our wonderful IHC primary care doctor has discovered NO lasting ill effects whatsoever. I have also had extensive monitoring by my urologist and others with no negative results. I do not not know how your opinion is more qualified than my group of highly respected medical professionals, but if you have certified proof of your superior expertise then please list your credentials. I have heard the hype about rapid weight loss over and over. Maybe you can show how obesity is less dangerous than weight loss????? I question your ability to judge the authors weight loss book for LDS, since I seriously doubt you have even read or obtained a copy of the same. Have you honestly purchased a copy of the book much less read it? I purchased a copy of her book and if you had actually read it you would have known that she strongly recommends seeking medical examination prior to implementing a serious diet as HCG. I myself am not an expert, but can attest to the diet's effectiveness. Some say that this diet allegedly diminishes muscle. If that is the case, can you explain why I am now able to make 62 ski runs in a day without tiring?
  11. Misshalfway, I am a newbie on this forum and this is my first post. I must admit that I am very amused at the various uninformed or misinformed responses to your question about HCG diet. I will give you my personal experience regarding the diets effectiveness. I was excessively overweight for a long time. I had tried many different diets without any real long term benefits. (A very frustrating dilemma!) My primary care physician told me I needed to lose weight. I suffered from acid reflux, heart murmur, gout, arthritic pain and sleep apnea. On May 9, 2009 I weighed 260 # wore 48" waist pants and all my shirts and coats were 2XX large size. Yuk! I was among the worst skeptics of almost all diets including this new thing called the HCG diet, since most diets limited the types of wonderful foods one can eat and required strict exercise regimen. One of our daughters (unbeknown to me had done extensive research on the HCG diet discovered by doctor Simeon). Near the end of her first diet session she disclosed to my wife and I the amazing results achieved by this "new" diet which we had never before heard of. I later discovered that it was only "new" to us, for it has been tested and used for more than fifty (50) years. At her "show and tell" visit and disclosure of this permanent weight loss program our skepticism was replaced by a willingness to actually put it to the test. The bottom line is that from only two sessions of the program starting from May 9, 2009 to Sept. 5, 2009 I got rid of about 75 pounds of unneeded and unwanted weight. From 260 # to 181#. I have been able to maintain close to that ending weight +=5 # since Sept. 5. So what are the positive and negative stats that affected me?: I got rid of 75 # A + I went from 48" waist pants to 34" waist pants. A+ Coat and shirt sizes from 2XXL to Medium coat and medium or large shirt. A + Shirt neck size from 17 1/2" to 15 1/2". A + No heart murmur. A+ Dr, Romney cancelled my acid reflux medicine prescription. A+ No sleep apnea breathing machine need. A + No arthritis pain or medication required. A+ No more painful gout attacks and medicine. A+ Energy and vitality level in every way is greatly increased. A+ I can ski twice as many runs without tiring. A+ No baggy skin after effects from this program. A+ I got to gladly donate ALL of my former clothes and purchased much smaller sizes. A+ Blood pressure went from 120/70 to 105/50. A+ Those are the pluses. I do not know of any real or lasting negative effects. BTW my wife has experienced similar positive results. I think common sense should prevail. During the weight reduction phase. It would be foolhardy to run a 26 mile marathon, triathelon, extensive mountain hiking, biking, swimming marathons or other extreme physical functions. To those with unfounded negative gossip, gainsaying or other uninformed views I would suggest seeking a deeper understanding from experienced sources. Talk is cheap. Success is hard to deny! My Medical stats before and after, in my opinion speak volumes! For those who are actually serious about permanent weight loss I might suggest exploring the following official website: hcgforlds.com I hope this response from those who know by personal experience is helpful. Best regards,
