  1. Wow!! This is why scribes were considered so important people!! And I bet they are today, too. I read this work costs about a total amount of 80,000 dollars and there are just 300 scribes worldwide. This makes the Torah extremely autentical.
  2. I am a medical and student and would like to know other medical students here from everywhere and any religion. Feel free to introduce yourself :)

    1 Nephi 22:31

An acceptable life is not enough...
  4. Considering that they were just little changes in Abraham's name it could be logical to attribute it to a change in the pronunciation throughout his trips from one region to another, as someone have just posted here. So it wouldn't be that God changed his name, but the people in the different regions changed its pronunciation or writing
  5. I think reading thekabalist's posts could help you in that... But I have heard that we are going to be called by our blessing's name in the resurrection, the sons of Zion will be recognized by their names, so it won't be any confusion, just the true children of God will know their names and will answer the calling.
  6. I can tell you from a confident source that the right girl for you won't matter about it... Well, you still have a change to go on a mission and it would be great if you do, but you wouldn't be judged if you don't. Source: I am single and 21, so, I am seeing these kind of issues everyday. lol.
  7. It was so nice to me to read this, as I've been an active member of the Church all my life, I have prayed faithfuly and try to always "Chosse the right", but I've never felt that "confirmation" that converted members say to feel, never heard something like the voice of the Holy Spirit, nor the burning or clear thoughts confirming. I was asking myself what I am missing, what am I doing worng? Or is just allucinations that other members have... or were they just lying? But now this explanation seems pretty logical to me :)
  8. To graduate of the Religion Institute you should have taken at least once the class of Eternal Marriage... I took it and it is wonderful, it even talks about abuse and everything one should know about marriage. Also before getting married in the temple you must have an interview with your bishop, that is helpful, cause he can see things from the outside of the relationship. The Church has many programs for marriages and families and the young adults are always being counseled about marriage, sometimes we could even feel overwhelmed by the topic... I think the church gives us the best tools to have great marriages... But, as we know, is not a guarantee and it depends of two people, so both of them should try to do their best of it won't work... Once I read that Utah is one of the states with the lowest rate of divorce... Could someone confirm this, please?
  9. Don't be afraid of leaving him... His "sweet" behaviour is typical in abusive men, that is cause he wants you back, and when you go back to him it will be the same cycle!!! It is better that your children grow with a single mother or with a step-father than with an abusive husband, I don't think they like to see his abuse upon you, I guess they prefer to be far from that, your peace, selfsteem and your children's appropiated growth is priceless, so don't fear that they won't have a father or that you will have a bad economical situation.
  10. I referred to the fact that it is expressed in a way that let you think there is more than one God: The Holy One (G-d), blessed be He (G-d), intended to bring forth the priesthood from Shem, as it is written, And he [sc. Melchizedek](Shem) was the priest of the most high God
  11. Could this be referring to God The Father in the Holy Trinity???
  12. This is really interesting, thekabalist made me truly beleive again in The Book of Mormon... I was being convinced by a Jewish friend that TBoM wasn't real and that the plates never existed, he started teaching me about Judaism and I became very interested in it, but I still have my doubts... I am now like an investigator of both religions (even I've been mormon all my life). This is really lighting to me, i shudder reading thekabalist threads and I think they worth to be published to the whole world.
