  1. WACX (Super Channel 55), while a Christian broadcasting channel, is a privately owned business and not a church.
  2. Let us go back to Quin's original question. He asked for examples of similar high end residential building projects during the last 100 years. The land ownership of the Catholic church in the Philippines seems rather irrelevant to the actual question asked, don't you think? BTW, the land ownership doesn't seem to be as high as you implied. It seems like different Catholic orders owned approximate 10% of the existing agricultural lands in Philippines at the beginning of the American Colonial rule. This majority of these landholding was purchased by the U.S. Civil Administration in 1904 as a part of a land reform Land reform in the Philippines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Church & State in the Philippines during the Spanish Colonial Period | A Sourcebook I'm sure that the Catholic church as a land owner made money from its tenants. It is, however, not applicable to the question at hand. Quin asked specifically for examples of similar high end residential building project during the last 100 years. Can you agree on that?
  3. Particularly if the doll looks like the doll Annabelle in the movie Conjuring.
  4. I have not been able to find any precedents on this kind of scale. Sure I was able to find a handful minor residential constructions/renovations done by other churches, but those projects seems to involve creating only a handful rental units in already existing buildings, like this one: Residential Real Estate - Church Rents Out a Redone Building - NYTimes.com The kind of large residential building projects we see being planned in Philly seems to be unique to the LDS church.
  5. According to the church's fact sheet the total amount spent on Humanitarian Aid from 1985 to 2011 was $1.4 billion. That's an average of about $54 million a year. http://www.lds.org/bc/content/shared/content/english/pdf/welfare/2011-welfare-services-fact-sheet.pdf
  6. You can always tithe Rainbow Dash.
  7. Theological question: Did God make a mistake when he gave man a foreskin? If not, isn't it then a violation of his creation to remove it?
  8. For 40 % you are: You are Pod, a pyroraptor! Similar to the velociraptor, you are quick-witted and fast, but your main weapon is your claw. Ok, I know you don't really have a huge claw, but think about it. A human equivalent to a claw is ambition. You are a traveler, too, and have experience with the world. You are wise and intelligent, and also love your family...you are also a leader. For 30 % you are: You are Alpha, a saltasuarus! Saltasaurus are not the smarter of the kind...but they have strong feelings and rely on instinct rather than thoughts. However, you are deep-grounded, brave enough to survive, and successful...whether it's by dumb luck or pure destiny.
  9. Wow, I finally agree 100% with Vort. I guess it's a first for everything.
  10. The movie "Antichrist" on Netflix. DO NOT WATCH IT.
  11. Hygiene issues? It's not difficult to keep clean. Takes like a second in the shower. Looking back, my only complaint would be that my parents never taught me about cleaning it properly and I had to discover the cleaning issue myself at the age of 9.
  12. Reminds me when I used to work at a legal assistance office for the military. Once in a while we had young Soldiers coming requesting help with this issue. They came back from 12-months deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan just to be greeted with $3000-$5000 bills for unreturned movies from the local video store. I don't know if they just brought the (adult content) videos with them to Iraq/Afghanistan not realizing that they could potentially be liable for a huge overdue fee.
  13. I'm opposed to circumcision of infants as it is irreversible and there usually exist no medical justification for it. Nature intended males to have foreskin, let it be. In my home country, the procedure is illegal and only Jews and Muslims can get a religious exemption from the law and have it done. Law makers are discussing the possibility of removing this religious exemption and make it completely illegal unless determined to be medically necessary.
  14. I just read this blog post from a "well behaved Mormon woman" about Frozen. A Well-Behaved Mormon Woman - Frozen: Not Gonna "Let It Go" When Movie Advocates Gay Agenda What are your thoughts about her ideas? Is there a hidden gay agenda behind the movie Frozen?
