  1. I am looking for an LDS discussion board. The last two I have tried are majority antis......
  2. Thank you. Not sure why there are so many of my posts
  3. I am a fairly new member. Sorta. I was baptized in 1983. I was a college grad with a job when I joined. I went on my mission in 1984. I quit my job, sold my things and went on my mission at the age of 24. After my mission, I went to law school. In my last year of law school, 1989, I left the church. I became a very vocal ant-Mormon. For 26 years, I fought against the Church. Then, thru a series of amazing miracles, I was rebaptized in 2015. I then quit my 6-figure managing attorney position in Texas and, because I believe God wanted me to, I moved to SLC. In May of this year, my blessings were restored. I attended the Temple for first time in 29 years. I am a Gospel Doctrine Teacher. I love the Church. I am so glad to be back.
  4. For some reason, there are duplicate threads
  5. ok.....now just started reading it again. I want to read it as a Member
  6. The versions are not just because folks do not tell a story the same way each time, but also because stories are told differently to different audiences. I go into more detail with folks who know nothing. I tell less details to people I do not know well. I have no issues with it
  7. I packed up a year ago and moved to Utah from Texas. I had a wonderful 6-figure job and nice house in Texas....I felt God wanted me to move here, so I did.
  8. Yes....there was something really special about it. But, I have never felt as close to the family of God as I do as a Latter-Day Saint
  9. It is harder to "put yourself out there" in today's world. We are ruled by the inane "political correctness" idiocy that plagues our society. I think I will start calling my Doberman a "Doberperson"
  10. I was very, very Catholic. I was a Eucharistic Minister, a Lector, and a 4th Degree Knight. And now, I am LDS. I sometimes miss the tradition and solemnity of the Catholic Church, but being LDS is the right thing....and it is amazing.
  11. You can do both....but, learning is always a great idea. We are taught in the Book of Mormon that prayer, fasting, and study is how you grow your testimony. If your testimony is not growing, it is shrinking.....
  12. It is a great book. I am a Gospel Doctrine teacher and I love finding little things in the Book of Mormon that prove it is the Word of God
  13. I read it as a non-Mormon (LDS now). I felt it was honest enough that a member would say, "See? Joseph was a prophet!" and a non-member would say, "See? He was not a prophet!"
  14. Good post about reading the Scriptures
