  1. Hey!

I just saw this! What do you mean "even" Elphaba? Hmph!

    hehehehehehe

    Welcome siouxz.

    The Wicked Witch Elphaba B)

I mean that I greatly admire every thing I read that is written by you and so I was very happy to see you here!! :) I really look forward to getting to know you!

  2. D&C 101:16

Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God.

This is the scripture that answered my prayers when I was struggling with my wife wanting to divorce me. I don't know everything but I know that God does and if I have patience then all that he wants for me will come to pass.

I love the part that says...be still and know that I am God.

    how comforting is that? :)

have I told you yet today that I love you checker?! you're an inspiration to me all the time.

  3. We set up this post to let the Prez know what smilies we want. He said to include links...but all ya'll know that I have no idea how to do all that. If we let him know what we want, he'll get it for us!

please please gimme a sparkly grin! like i said before... i NEED it! ;)

  4. A friend of mine was just asking me about Enrichment ideas. What are the best Enrichment activities you've ever had or what do you think would be really great? My favorite was when we did a recipe exchange, brought samples, and had all our recipes compiled into a book.

    :)

My favorite was a smoothie social where we were given recipes for all the smoothies that everyone brought and tasted. It was good because there was such a great variety! some were high protein (peanut butter). We had one made with soy milk and berries for the vegans in our ward. There were a few others, but those were the two stand outs for me! And obviously it was great fun to sit around and chit chat for an hour and a half! :)

  5. Try this one.

You ask, "What's the difference between toilet paper and a shower curtain?"

If the person says, "I don't know", you say, "So you're the one!"

okay...this is so gross, but true! it happened a couple weekends ago when my son was spending the night at his friends house.. no tp in the upstairs bathroom so one of the younger brothers actually used the shower curtain!! grody!!! :o

  6. Douglas, having been born in the church, these kinds of stories are of great interest to me. We all have to ultimately search for Christ, but it helps to hear of those who come from a different direction. However, don't ever be afraid to say it like it is. If your desires are not fulfilled, I want to hear about that, too.

    Welcome Douglas!

I most heartily concur with Juliann... I want to hear story no matter what! I was lucky enough to have been born to member parents and was baptized when I was 8. I gained a real testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel and that the Lord is my savior, though, in my late teens and early twenties. I love the gospel! I love the scriptures. And I would just like to take this quick opportunity to let you know that I know this church is true. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that Gordon B Hinkley is a true prophet today. I know that Christ died for me and my sins and through his atoning sacrafice I can one day live with Him again. I feel so blessed to live in this day when we can know the fullness of the gospel and can share it with those around us.

Good luck on your journey, my brother! :)

  7. Hi Maya...welcome!

I think that you keeping ties to both sets of parents is wonderful, as well! We adopted my little brother and his birth mom was a big part of his early years. After a while though, she dropped out. It was hard on us all, but my little brother is one tough cookie and we're all so thankful that he's part of our family.

hmm...i think i need to add you to my "friends" list! :)

  8. I just loved the idea so much I hijacked it and brought it over here. Everyone, please feel free to quote a scripture, a passage even a chapter if you'd like! And please tell us why it is a favorite of yours.

Here's mine to start it off...

    D&C section 110: 1-5

1 The veil was taken from our minds, and the eyes of our understanding were opened.

2 We saw the Lord standing upon the breastwork of the pulpit, before us; and under his feet was a paved work of pure gold, in color like amber.

3 His eyes were as a flame of fire; the hair of his head was white like the pure snow; his countenance shone above the brightness of the sun; and his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying:

4 I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father.

5 Behold, your sins are forgiven you; you are clean before me; therefore, lift up your heads and rejoice.

I love this passage because of the wording in verses 3-5. I can just picture the Lord standing there. And his voice. And really, can you imagine Him telling you that your sins are forgiven and you are clean before Him?! It's so compeletely awesome!!

  9. I too, swear by a chiropractor!

The other thing that helps me when I get a migraine...you know the kind where any light makes you want to vomit?.. is massage. If my husband will just work on my neck and upper back for a little bit, the pain starts to go away.

Finally... whenever I feel a headache coming on I head it off at the pass with my own special remedy. Excedrine with a Pepsi chaser! It really does fix everything. Especially the Pepsi part... head hurts? drink a pepsi.. tummy ache? drink a pepsi.. having a bad hair day?! drink a pepsi!

  10. First...I love the Doctrine and Covenants! And here's my favorite... Can you even imagine what it would be like for the Lord to speak directly to you and say what he does here in verse 5?! It gets me every time!

  11. I eat it on my toast while drinking my hot cocoa. Hot cocoa just isn't the same with out it.

As for UMW I defer that Morningstar. If I told you I'd have to kill ya and I hate blood. Morninstar delights in torture of this sort. :P

tee hee! well...i'm glad you don't want to kill me. i'd hate for our friendship to end like that! ;)

    Morningstar...enlighten me!
