I was a skinhead for the better part of two decades, they're closet nazis, much of the same folks who were running in white power circles are running around with the proud boys, they are very much a right wing version of antifa, only pretending to be civil. Also, the EDL is full of ex blood and honour /c18 members. None of these groups are something members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints should have ties to.

I spent over 20 years of my life in bars, jail, Smoking dope and playing in punk rock bands and I turned out just fine, in fact I teach primary 😜 I love my ward, they've been nothing but loving and accepting of me and my tattooed arms

I also suggest writing down what you do remember from that dream before it fades more.
-
Keep a dream journal, also write down every promting, spiritual experience, promises in blessings.

I asked a question to help me better understand the pros and cons. I'm sorry I asked, I thought people on here would respond in a kinder tone than the rest of social media.

Are there doctrinal reasons for or against free or at least affordable health care?

My wife and I just saw this last night, I couldn't help but to view it through my knowledge of the gospel( wife is not a member) and thought, how sad, what a tragedy. My wife didn't understand how I came to that conclusion, after all he apparently lived happily with his "friend" until his death. It was a very good film by babylon's standards 😄

This woman is seeking help and understanding, maybe the doctrinal argument is better conducted in a separate thread?

There is nothing you have done that prevents you from partaking of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and being forgiven. Trust me, I've committed serious sins in my past and soon I will be going to the temple. Go back, speak with your bishop, it feels so great to be free of the burden of sin. All religions have some truths, we have the fullness.

I wouldn't force it but I think "as a man thinketh" should be required reading for all.

ive been meaning to respond to this, im a stay at home dad of two under two so I'm easily sidetracked. my story is a long one so ill give you the condensed version. i was born and raised in the church, left when i was 17 and didnt look back for many years. wandered in the mists so to speak after i let go of the iron rod (not sure i was ever really holding on to begin with) filled that spiritual void with anything i could thatd numb me to the reality of life without the spirit. (didnt realize this at the time, i thought i was just having a great old time) ended up married to a non member(many years later) who is a wonderful person so i wanted to get my act together, started slowly reintroducing myself to the gospel and this year i was able to bless both of my sons. my wife is still a non member but shes uniquely very supportive of my return to faith as well as raising my children in the church. i never in a million years thought id be who and where i am today. grateful to my savior and heavenly father for his patience and love.

A question about modesty and exercising
Barrett Maximus replied to Opal's topic in Health and Exercise
ultimately this is between you and the lord, if i was in your position i would take it to him. personally i cant wait to be able to wear garments and i plan on wearing them all the time once endowed, even when i hike in the Arizona summers.- 84 replies

my 2 cents as someone who is heavily tattooed and at one time had piercings, i wouldn't let my hypothetical daughter get that particular piercing at 15, contrary to what some have said, it is sexualized and generally leads to other body modification , gauged ears and tattoos are the cool thing these days, when i was getting tattooed it was still looked down on by most of society. its the norm now. just as we learn line upon line how to be righteous the same goes for the seeds of rebellion. but ultimately you are the parent, seek council from heavenly father on the matter and do what you think is appropriate. (i say hypothetical because i only have two sons...who i will council to never get tattoos or piercings even though both me and my wife have. )

Dealing with a screaming child at church.
Barrett Maximus replied to Lost Boy's topic in General Discussion
I bring my almost 2 year old son with me to church, my wife is not a member. he screams, screeches a loud high pitched sound, not only on Sundays but daily, i have been blessed to have some members help me with him, he has good days and bad days, on the bad days we sit in the foyer or walk the halls. i promise you, the parent of the child knows it is distracting, it is for me, but the goal is to teach my son to sit in sacrament meeting and learn reverence and develop the habit of going to church every Sunday. it isn't easy, at times it definitely makes it hard to feel the spirit but i know i'm doing what the lord wants me to do as a father. i am so grateful for the angels in my ward who have been so helpful.
