  1. *shrug* The Lord only takes living men there or shows it to them when He REALLY has something to tell them. One day we can "all" go there, yes, but it's not that day. Few are called to visit there in mortality, and when they are, it's pretty much saying "Now, listen carefully, because this is REALLY important."
  2. Well, that's exactly true. Christ even tells us that.
  3. Throne Room Theophanies have not occurred often in Scriptures. It is not often that a LIVING Man gets to see the Throne of God-- The Center of the Celestial Kingdom, where no unclean thing can dwell. If it happened to a lot of others, it speculation. I'm just going be the scriptural witnesses. And, being such a powerful experience, you'd think all who had the privilege would write about it.
  4. Well, you must not know a lot of people, and clearly don't understand me. Which, seems like it's more of a sad thing for you, because those who DO understand me tend to tell me I'm awesome . Your loss. :) And I'm referring to all that Eckhart Tolle/A New Earth nonsense.
  5. The problem lies it putting your faith in something other than the Lord. Those using Tarot cards to divine answers are doing just that: Putting their faith in the cards and possibly the one dealing the cards. The Godhead works on laws and principles of order. There are ways They reveal Their will to us humans. There are ways They have told us that Satan deceives us. These ways They will not use, because They do not want to deceive us or create any "grey areas" that might confuse us. While I haven't been able to find a source (yet), I've heard that Church leaders also tell us to avoid "Pop Psychology" and such, as well. That'd include Tarot psychology. Or Oprah's latest pet project (make me gag.)
  6. We can't know which are and aren't, exactly, but we have the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants to fill in the blanks. Where those books of scripture clarify doctrine, then chances are that it was: a) mistranslated b) removed or c) not originally part of Bible. Joseph Smith was doing some translation work of the Bible, and we have some of that. If you find the Joseph Smith translation, you can see what he was able to accomplish.
  7. Check out verse 8. 8 And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a vision, even that he saw the heavens open, and he thought he saw God sitting upon his throne, surrounded with numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising their God. Well, I don't know about "thought" he saw. I'm pretty sure that's written to mean "He says he saw, but not everyone believed him." ANYWAY, the point in quoting it was, that VERY FEW prophets actually get to see God on His Throne(from where He rules the universe). But Lehi saw Him at the start of his journey, as such. I'm not sure who else has seen the Throne Room. Isaiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, Nephi, Joseph Smith, John the Revelator. If there's more than that, it's not a whole lot. And when you consider the entire cast of the Scriptures, how much of a privilege is that? Lehi's prayers must've been something amazing. (Verse 5.)
  8. It's an obedience thing, yes. There's promises in the Word of Wisdom. Obey the WoW, get the promised blessings. Science and Man can come up with a bunch of reasons why they're bad, but we don't know EVERYTHING, and there could be plenty of reasons that we don't know about. Did they think about addiction and caffeine and carcinogen when the Word of Wisdom first came out? No. It was obedience. Edit: Also, I love that quote. Sounds like a good talk. Edit2: Also, red wine has "health benefits," too. HMM!
  9. Heavenly Father is who we worship, not Christ. Even Christ worships the Father. Cryts: I voice my opinions, and it's arguing? I'm not always going to agree with people, and I'd like to find out why we disagree.
  10. Vahnin's last post is the right answer.
  11. How can the Head of the Church not be a member of it?
  12. A Christian is one who follows the TEACHINGS of Christ. I think He did that pretty well, and led by example. You can't be Jew and Christian, that doesn't work. They were BORN Jews or from Jewish lineage, but that doesn't... Okay, so I don't believe Jesus was a Jew, that doesn't make sense to me. Maybe then you don't call Him a Christian. Fine... Then He's neither. He's Messiah. Edit: Also, He's Mormon.
  13. I don't believe this, myself. Jesus was born of Jewish heritage, but how can Christ be anything but Christian? And the Jews followed strict obedience to many laws, and Christ, having fulfilled them Himself, had moved beyond them. I'm interested in Judaic beliefs and Hebrew, and especially early Judaic beliefs, because I believe they had much of the early Gospel. There's much to be learned there, even if we believe many of the Laws have been fulfilled... There's reasons for them, and perhaps other insights into the nature of the universe.
  14. I had a lesson on the whole Ham/Canaan thing, but I'll be darned if I was paying attention Nevertheless, this is what the Institute Manual teaches:
  15. I think it's safe to say there's no Transsexual or Hermaphrodite Spirits. Thus, as you perfect your body, it'll relate to your Spirit. At the Resurrection you are raised with every hair intact. You "wake up" EXACTLY how you were before you died... But in the Resurrected state, the Spirit has power over the Body (whereas in this life, the Body has power over the Spirit), and however the process of perfecting our body happens, happens. A male spirit can't perfect towards a female body, or vice versa. But... do we know the gender of our spirits? Most of us, yes. But those in question, the "Gender challenged?" Maybe not. But across the veil, I'm certain they'll find out. Edit: When you get those surgeries, Willow, you're raised with them, too. All your scars, all your wounds. It takes power, and faith, and possibly repentance, to get rid of them. I, however believe that people who get plastic surgery can't "Perfect" those "fake" parts, but that they'll have to spend time getting them back to how the were. Seems like a waste of time, to me. People who get reconstructive surgery... I think that as they perfect themselves their bodies will become how they were MEANT to be. Such as those with cleft palette... It'll be as if they never had it (or the surgery) in the end. To sum it up: I think any physical "Defect" that was possible because of the Fall of Man can be overcome as we perfect our bodies.

  17. The Millenial Reign is not 1,000 years. That's not entirely accurate. It's at LEAST 1,000 years, but it actual lasts until the Work is completed.
  18. Actually... There was no blood before the fall. I'm skeptical as to whether or not "DNA" as we know it really existed, either. Once the fall happened... *shrug*
  19. I just never thought about it too hard. I always assumed that God had made more humans than JUST Adam and Eve. And when they fell, well, all men fell, and so there's a whole populace of "genetic material." Adam and Eve, however, were the ones with access to the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, and the ones the Lord spoke to.
  20. From a post by HizWife: Joseph Smith translated that as: JST 1 Thes. 4: 17 Then they who are alive, shall be caught up together into the clouds with them who remain, to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we be ever with the Lord. So, by modern day revelation, we LDS know that that verse meant those that were made alive (who were just dead) will be taken up, in this verse. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep*, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. *GR die, sleep in death. This suggests to me that it just means that when people die they'll come alive again. So in a twinkling of an eye that shall go from mortal to immortal, instead of actually "dying." Latter-day revelation solidifies this stance: D&C 63:50 And he that liveth when the Lord shall come, and hath kept the faith, blessed is he; nevertheless, it is appointed to him to die at the age of man. 51 Wherefore, children shall grow up until they become old; old men shall die; but they shall not sleep in the dust, but they shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye. D&C 101: 31 And when he dies he shall not sleep, that is to say in the earth, but shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye, and shall be caught up, and his rest shall be glorious. There's the LDS stance for you, lostnfound.
  21. Depends on their inflection. Sometimes you can tell the difference. But usually, lessons have support material (written.) So, books or chalkboards, whatever's used. I've even had an Institute lesson (I believe it was) where we discussed the big G and little g.
  22. Mosiah 6: Mosiah becomes king. 3 years later King Benjamin dies. It says in verse 7 there was no contention for 3 years, but it doesn't say whether or not this was before or after King Benjamin died. So was there peace just for those 3 years King Benjamin was still alive, but Mosiah was reigning, or was there another 3 after that? Mosiah 7 answers. It says after those 3 years Mosiah sent out men, and the footnote gives the same year as the year King Benjamin died. 121 BC
  23. Does anyone know of any good, reliable jobs like this? I need a work-at-home one myself, but I don't even know where to really start looking. I don't have any IT training, or CSR experience. I'd prefer data entry, but I have no idea how to go about finding a place to apply at. Any and all help appreciated.
  24. No, I've always been taught you can become a god.
