First I must
Okay, now.....We're going to the Houston Temple. Our stake is going this Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We did it for the first time this March and apparently this is going to be something we do twice each year. It's really a neat experience. Today we had standing room only. B)
Last March we had a "Flood the Temple" week for our stake. We're doing it again this week. I'm just wondering if this is just something we're doing here in Texas or if it's a nation wide or world wide thing.
I don't have the list of questions anymore but they were all related to Church and Family. They wouldn't really have to be about church and family though. You could ask anything. A lot of people donated more than one service so there was plenty to go around.
We recently had a Service Auction. We had about 90 sisters show up and we all had a lot of fun. Everyone was told ahead of time to bring something homemade or a coupon for something they would do as a service for another sister. Then we served them dinner and had them fill out a questionaire. There were 50 questions like How many times have you said "I love you" today? Or How many children do you have? Or how many verses of scripture have you read in the last 24 hours?
Each of the numbers in their answers was multiplied by 10 and those points were what they used to bid with. It got noisy and fun and we can hardly wait to do it again.
I've had several people tell me that they know someone who had been to the temple and there are absolutely no pictures of or references to Jesus in there.
So we won't be eating meat but do you think we will still be allowed to milk cows and drink the milk? I mean, if we have perfect bodies we could eat all the cookies we want to so I would really miss a tall glass of cold milk with my cookies.
A lady who was RLDS told me her uncle had gotten a fake TR and made it thru a Temple session where they killed goats and marked their garments with the blood.
I had a load of fun with my kids. We went camping and hiking a lot but we did other things too. We had season passes to a water park, went to Astroworld, Seaworld and a bunch of other expensive tings. One of my kids even went to Europe for her junior year of high school. The only thing they ever really talk about is the camping and hiking trips which didn't cost hardly anything.
Save your money and just give your kids lots of attention--take them camping.
LDS since 1984. Was inactive for 12 years but came back strong about 10 years ago. I have 3 kids and 3 grandkids. I love playing with my family, doing genealogy, biking, hiking, cooking and gardening.
