Gilbert coffee shops get business despite LDS caffeine ban
mlbrowninwa replied to Hemidakota's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Oh easy now, McDonald's? Maybe i'm bias to Starbucks, but i hate McDonald's coffee. Everyone has their own favorite for sure, but it would be very easy for me to give up coffee if I couldn't get my Starbucks. -
I just can't believe all the hype that is going on about this. It sure seems to me that the media is taking every chance to stir up the panic, not to mention the government officials.

I was in JROTC for all four years in high school. This was over 20 years ago, but I loved it. Learned alot from the experience and was great leadership training. My son is planning on taking JROTC starting next year when he moves to high school.

“The whole world is very fragile. The question is where would you rather be: In Moscow or London? I’d much rather be in Moscow.” Same here. I think Russia will pull things out before other parts of Europe. I listened to a speech by the Russian President on the economy the other day. Very good and i think they will pull out. I thought his speech was better and more honest than Obama's. Starting to get bad when you trust the Russians more than our leaders.

YES!!!!! Now i can run right out and buy that new truck I've been looking at!! Do they really think this is going to help?
-
Only time i could see myself pulling for the Steelers is if they're playing NE.
-
From what I've seen, do the opposite of what Kramer says and you'll do fine.
-
The commercials are the best during the superbowl for sure. I will watch the game as always. I wish my Ravens would have made it. I'm getting tired of pulling for the NFC teams in the superbowl.
-
Lets go Cards. Get it done.
-
Congrats to the Cards and the Steelers. My Ravens will be back better and stronger next year. We hung in there better than i thought we would with all the starting secondary sitting on the bench. Was also very surprised they came out and tried to pass the ball all over the field when they have RUN the ball all year to get there!!!!! Ride the train that brought you there!!!

Actually citi financial has been one of the biggest recipients of them all. They not only got part of TARP1, but was also partially nationalized with the Fed backing something like 320 billion. Gave them 320 billion while telling the auto companies they couldn't have any. Wells Fargo has also received TARP help and used that help to acquire Wacovia. Wells will need additional help before it's over. Citi is in further trouble now and after all that funding will now be split into to separate companies.

I currently have a credit card with BOA that has a balance on it that I am working to pay off. As soon as we bailout BOA i'm going to call them and let them know that since I as a taxpayer has come to their rescue against my will, i expect my account to be set at 0% interest until it's paid. I will be more than willing to pay my debt, but nothing else.
-
Are we as a country just going to sit back and continue to do bailout after bailout? We just bailed out Citi a few weeks ago and they're back at the well. Now the largest recipient of the TARP is back(Bank of America) needing more money to survive and of course the taxpayer(you and me) are on the hook. This is getting crazy. When are they just going to let the markets work as they should. Bad companies and banks need to go bankrupt and let all this mess reset once and for all.
-
I don't really care for any NFC teams, but i would really like to see the Cards go to the big game. After so many years of never getting there, everyone deserves a shot.

My Ravens have made it to the AFC Championship game. Ravens/Steelers will be a better game than the Super Bowl in my opinion. Can't wait for Sunday afternoon! Ravens looked tired against the Titans, hopefully they can pull it out. Still can't believe the Cards are in the NFC Championship game, but whoever wins the AFC, wins the SB. GO RAVENS!!!!!!
-
This game is going to be all about the D. Just my kind of game. Ray Lewis and company will be up to the task. I feel it will be low scoring, Ravens 13-Titans 3. Ed Reed ends the day with another 2 int day. I have my Raven colors on, LETS GO RAVENS!!!!! By far, best match up of the weekend.

That looks like great fun, would love to try that. -
Yes it is technically active, but it is highly monitored. They will let you climb it, there is a marked trail to the summit. There are still parts of the mountain that are still off limits. For now she blows off steam every now and then. It is an amazing site to see it up close. Knowing she's still active just adds to the adventure!

I enjoyed Mount St Helens, although i have only hiked around the mountain, not up it's side yet. But from what I've seen on some hiking forums that i post on it will be a challenge. You are allowed to hike to the summit as long as there is not activity that causes them to close it to hiking. You are required to get a permit to climb above 4800 feet and they only issue limited passes during the year. So far the highest on a mountain i have been is about 7500 feet on Mount Hood(which is the Cooper Spur hike on my site). I really under estimated the effect of the thin air on my hiking when i went on that hike. Will be going for about 8700 this summer and if i'm not mistaken that is also about the height of the summit at Mt St Helens.
-
Thanks for the compliment. I go on lots of hikes, but of course have had to put that on the back burner until all the rain and snow here clears up. Hopefully more to be added in the spring. This summer i plan on getting to the top of Mount St. Helens and to tie in rock on Mount Hood.

Just wanted to share with everyone my photo web site that i have that i put photos up from my hikes and things here in the Portland area. Everyone take a look and let me know what you think. Photos include our hikes on Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, San Fransisco, and a trip my daughter and i took to see her favorite band KISS over the summer. Picasa Web Albums - Michael&Kelly

Yeah, the last time SD and Pitt played i remember the score being within a point, but it sure seemed Pitt controlled the game more than the score indicated.

Whenever my kids get in my car they find the radio tuned to am talk radio. They are 16 and 14 now and do not like it one bit. Although my son doesn't mind ESPN radio. In my wife's car it's country music, which I will agree with the kids on this one and complain about it as much as they do.

Don't worry about Christmas being past, it's a great read at anytime of the year. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas. She finished it in one night, then gave it to my wife. She couldn't put it down either and passed it to me after she finished it. It is loosely based on Glen's life. Gives everyone things to think about.

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but I just finished Glen Beck's new book the Christmas Sweater. It only took me a night to read it, couldn't put it down. Recommend it to everyone. Excellent read!!!
