Hemidakota
Doesn't Canada allow same gender marriages?
Fiannan
Interesting since there are Muslims who have immigrated to Canada that want Canada to allow them to live under Sharia law and be able to practice their faith and marriage customs and not be subjected to Canadian law. Hemidakota
If Canada is catering to same gender marriage, then plural marriage should be allowed.
Just_A_Guy
· Hidden Hidden I heard a rumor somewhere that Canada is prosecuting these two as a test case to see if their bigamy laws are still enforceable. Link to comment

Canuck Mormon
Yes, we do. Alberta was the last hold out Province, but gave up when the Supreme Court of Canada ruled it illegal to not allow it.

Maureen
This polygamist community in Bountiful, BC has been in the media a lot in Canada; so I knew it was Canada and not Utah. :)
KristofferUmfrey
Winston Blackmore is a good man, but I guess Canada didn't want to be outdone by Texas.
Hemidakota
He should appeal to the Canadian Supreme Court for Polygamy. If Canada can cater to one group then it should be across the board.
Maureen
Winston Blackmore is a good man, but I guess Canada didn't want to be outdone by Texas. The Fifth Estate has interviewed Mr. Blackmore so often, that after awhile he starts to grow on you. For some reason he is very personable.
livy111us
What doesn't make sense to me is that this man was arrested for being married to more than one woman. But, if he was married to one, and having an affair with another, it would be perfectly legal and is almost the norm now. I'm against polygamy, but this seems rather hypocritical. Either make polygamy legal, or extra-marital affairs illegal.
