LittleWyvern Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 God is eternal, no onr made him. Why do you worship a man"As man is, God once was; as God is, man may become."So, we don't worship a man. :) Quote
pam Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 We have not been provided with that knowledge yet. Quote
Dr T Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I believe that nobody made God and God has always existed, eternally. That's all I can say. Quote
Maxel Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 God is eternal, no onr made him. Why do you worship a manGuys, I don't think Jobiwon is legit. And by legit I mean 'not interested in antagonizing the Mormons'.But, he might be: what's your background, Jobiwon, and what do you mean by asking us why we worship a man? Quote

Celica Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 I was just thinking of this the other day, what got me thinking was that post from President Joseph F Smith. It said that God was born of a woman......but how could this be cause i always thought God was just forever there. I talked a bit with the missionaries about it and they said that somethings i'm not meant to understand. Quote

Book_of_Mormon_Warrior Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 (edited) There had to be a first. Who was the first God?Jobiwon-LDS believe that we all originate as "intelligences", and the "intelligences" are self-existent beings that have always existed. They believe "our God" started out as one of these "intelligences" and progressed to the position He holds now. Thus when one becomes a God they can claim to exist from all eternity because they started as an uncreated eternal "intelligence".As to who they believe the first "intelligence" was to begin this journey and progress to Godhood... there is no body of thought on the matter.
