Guest SisterofJared Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 I agree jbs2763. I think we are going to end up having another civil war in the US. Many states will not accept the things that are coming up. Texas may well lead the way in succeeding from the union. My family has guns in about every household and the kids are trained in how to use them. They are stored in a locked gun case, yes, because there are many little children, but still the kids go shooting with the parents, and I was interested to see my son in law sit down to clean his guns a few weeks ago, and invite his 4 year old to help. He explained carefully to her what he was doing and why, and let her assist at appropriate times. She also goes shooting with him, although I do know if she actually shoots. The boys 9,11, 12, do shoot. I personally think it's almost a responsibility of every law abiding citizen to have a gun. Why do we leave our protection to others? If all good citizens were armed and prepared to protect themselves and their families, much less crime would be happening. It's a defenseless people who are prey to the bad guy. I am never uncomfortable with a righteous man carrying. I know a lot of good LDS men who carry even at church, and I like it. Sister of Jared Quote

Not just the right to vote but to stay informed and get into the voting process. Get involved unless you wanna be like Willow and the other Brits, no offense brits. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Just a quick follow up - here is a video illustrating why a knife is still a very deadly weapon against a guy armed with a handgun. (I can't quite peg the guy's accent - this seems to be an old police training video.) Quote
Janice Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I was wondering what people on this sites feelings are about having weapons in the home (with or with out children)..I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet so I though id look for other peoples thoughts. Thanks CB;)I have not read the replies... just offering my input. We have a virtual arsenal of firearms locked in a gun safe in the basement. To the everlasting delight of my hubby, our oldest daughter (the tomboy) has expressed some interest in knowing how to hunt, so they have gone together. I expect my son, the youngest might as well when he's out of diapers and can talk :) but of course that will be his choice.I find the liberal idea that "guns are evil" to be downright ridiculous. Moksha Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I find the liberal idea that "guns are evil" to be downright ridiculous. Janice How right you are about this. Those liberals fail to realize the caution we take, in keeping our chemical and biological weaponry under lock and key, to ensure the safety of our children. Quote
