the buddha has said that life can be found only in the present moment. the past is gone, the future is not yet here....

what would you, as lds people, say is the single most important thing you can do each moment to show the world (or god) that your are a faithful member of the church? i suppose it may be difficult to come up with just one, but try ....what is the single most important?

I would say the most important thing for us to do, from moment to moment is to look unto [Him] in every thought; doubt not, fear not.

That is a good one, JanP.

There are a lot of things we can do now to show we are devoted followers of Christ. One principle that I keep in mind is that it is never about us. We are to be an influence for good in the lives of those around us, be it directly or indirectly (by example).

this scripture rather sums it up for me

Mormon 9:31 Condemn me not because of mine imperfection, neither my father, because of his imperfection, neither them who have written before him; but rather give thanks unto God that he hath made manifest unto you our imperfections, that ye may learn to be more wise than we have been.

for whilst we live in the moment if we don't learn as we go the past is a waste.
