Snow,

As an alternative to posing questions, would you please care to spell out your thoughts? I fully appreciate logic--with the caveat that where deities and devils tread, the scientific method seldom proves adequate. It is the nature of a metaphysical theological discussion.

I would love to hear your views.

Sincerely,

Kawazu

Here's my view. The collective reasoning and critical thinking skills exhibited by most posters on this thread make the zero second gap between 1st place and 2nd place in today's stage 11 of the Tour de France look capacious by comparison.

Really? You think that spirit matter is substantial enough that it can move enough air to create audible speech?

They call the stuff that holds galaxies together dark matter, because it's unseen and they have no idea what it is, yet it's effects are evident.

Obviously, spirit matter interacts with matter in some way, otherwise it could not control our bodies.

Wow, what an eloquent and topical way to imply your peers on this forum are idiots.

Don't you love people who decide that believing God's word makes the believer brainless?

I'll trust God over self-anointed "critical thinkers" any time. God doesn't change with the winds of "intellectual" fashion, and certainly knows more than any mortal.

If it were not so, every prophetic vision in every dispensation of time would have been one heckuva hoax.

Exodus 3 "4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I."

God's spirit matter was substantial enough to call out to Moses.

Joseph Smith—History 1 "15 After I had retired to the place where I had previously designed to go, having looked around me, and finding myself alone, I kneeled down and began to offer up the desires of my heart to God. I had scarcely done so, when immediately I was seized upon by some power which entirely overcame me, and had such an astonishing influence over me as to bind my tongue so that I could not speak. Thick darkness gathered around me, and it seemed to me for a time as if I were doomed to sudden destruction."

Satan's spirit matter was obviously substantial enough to prevent a boy prophet from speaking.

So are you trying to get us to think critically? Or are you trying to get us to question our beliefs in order to justify your own insecurities? Either the scriptures are the revealed and true word of God (and "if there are faults they are the mistakes of men") or they are not. There is no middle ground. Since there is no obvious outlying scientific proof in either case, it's up to each of us to choose what we believe. What do you believe, Snow?

Ah - sarcasm. I can tell. It is, isn't it. Bully for you.

Ever stop to think that it was God that created critical thinking? No, no you probably didn't.

Whoops - you've missed the point.

God has a physical body and hence lungs and a voice box. However, God, being God has control over the elements, so it's kinda moot.

Go ahead and finish your point... exactly what insecurities am I justifying? How does calling out critical thinking justify them... and why would I want to justify them. Seems to me that I wouldn't want to justify them, but rather overcome them, or if I was weak-willed, then mask them, but it's your idea so let's hear it.

Really - no middle ground. Are you certain about that?

How about this - the Bible is the history of God dealings with man, from the man's point of view. So some of the the Bible was inspired, some not. While some was inspired, man's error crept in and so something less than absolute truth resulted. What we have, as a result, is neither the perfect word of God, nor the uninspired word of man... a middle ground so to speak.

Would you like me to list some prophets that agreed with that characterization? Do the initials BY or JS mean anything to you?

... and?

You believe that spirits can move enough air past spirt vocal cords to create sound?

1. Job is allegorical - OBVIOUSLY. God does not conspire to murder his servants families.

most likely to be allegorical but not proved to be so, and of course i attach to proof dont u?

2. Job refers to Hasatan - an agent of God, not a super evil supernatural deity trying to overthrow God.

Is it then your contention that Satan actually possesses the power to take/transport God, the incarnate Christ as he, Satan so chooses?

of course not, we know for josephs smith translation the full truth.. but what about the scriptures that he knows, u hadnt answer if he COULD read... if so how, if not how he got to know the scriptures¨¡? is that allegorical too? or metaphorical or '¿

:deadhorse:

3 Nephi 11 "29 For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another."

2 Timothy 2 "24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,"

Philippians 3 "2 Don't feed the trolls."
