Knowing that you are LDS does not change the truth but it does color a little how I might attempt to present some thoughts.

I suggest that you use the most simple words you can to share your ideas. That’s what I do, and I make good use of the Edit feature as I keep trying to make my thoughts more clear.

And btw, I have found by experience that there are many ideas a lot of LDS don’t share or agree on, so the fact that I am LDS shouldn’t really affect how you share information.

It is unfortunate that too many Latter-day Saints are willing to DIE for their religion, yet they will not LIVE FOR IT, is a concept I have created.

They will not go to church and there is one simple reason: PRIDE, which is the root of all universal sin with the love of money.

The question is: why won't they go to church?

Answer? Because they think they have already learned everything and cannot be helped more.

The will fall away and will not endure to the end. You can pick them out from the congregations. Tehy wil will become complacent and then they won't care anymore.

This repsonse seems very judgmental. And is the reason for many not to come back. I did not go to church for many, many years. It was not because of pride. It was the fear of meeting someone like you at church. I have been very lucky in that aspect. I was in the Air Force for 10 years and moved around a lot. After each move, it would take me awhile to get back to church. But when I did, I was very lucky and was welcomed with open arms by everyone. Not one person passed judgement on me or the mistakes that I have made in my life. I felt very welcome in each and every ward. If I had been in your ward, I doubt that I would have gone back. Which is very sad. Its people like you that prevent people from coming back. That you will pass judgement on them. Something that you do not have the right to do.

Thank you Pushka. I have heard so many horror stories of people not being welcomed and judged. Its just heart breaking. This is not what we are taught. I am just happy that I have had the good fortune of having great wards.

I think sometimes its not meant that way though, some people are just overwhelmed by church, family, children, and school activities that they forget to make time. I think if we all remember to say hi to one new person every sunday church would be a much closer place. :thinking.idea:
