havejoy Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 The little guy in my Primary, Peyton (7), who has a terminal brain tumor is now transitioning from school to hospice care. This is a very difficult time for everyone who knows him. He has been provided with a prayer pager. Every time someone calls, it will vibrate, and he will know that someone is thinking of him and/or praying for him. It would be wonderful if this pager went off all the time. The number is (979) 239-0357. When you call, there will be three beeps. Enter your zip-code and press #. Peyton will get a page with the zip code. We want him to know that people near and far are praying for him. He’s in Texas so is on Central time. Thanks Quote
havejoy Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Here is his caring bridge site:CaringBridge / ourpeyton / Welcome Quote
pam Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Havejoy I posted it on my facebook page as well. Quote
havejoy Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 Thank you. Peyton is getting a kick out of finding places on the map to go with the zip codes. Quote
candyprpl Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Done! I'm going to put it on my facebook wall as well! Quote
OneEternalSonata Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 Its on my facebook, too! Quote
Mahone Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 That's very touching. Unfortunately I have no access to a phone which doesn't block international calls, otherwise I would call the number. Think he'd be very confused by my post code (zip code) Quote
havejoy Posted November 20, 2009 Author Report Posted November 20, 2009 I have been wondering if other countries have 5 digit zip codes and if it even works on incoming calls from outside the US. I know Peyton has friends in Mexico so I hope they get to page him. Quote
havejoy Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 Thank you all so very much. Here's something from his caring bridge site that his mom wrote: My, what a week. It all started last Sunday when a friend of ours from down the street/school/scouts brought over a prayer pager. The number of the pager was distributed to members of her church's congregation and each time Peyton and our family are prayed for, the person calls the number and our pager buzzes. The number has now made it's way all over the place and the kids like seeing what zip code pops up on the screen. It sits on our piano and each time it goes off Trey says "Oh! Someone is praying for us!" It is such a nice reminder of the love and prayers being offered on behalf of our family. Quote

I know Peyton has friends in Mexico so I hope they get to page him.We have six characters in our post codes, and they are all alphanumeric (e.g. T458GH), so I doubt it would work if it's designed for five digits. havejoy Posted November 22, 2009 Author Report Posted November 22, 2009 If you can't page him you could still go to the caring bridge site and leave a message for him. He likes frog jokes and knock-knock jokes. Quote
pam Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 Thanks for the tip. I just posted some silly one liner frog jokes on his page. Quote
havejoy Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 Peyton isn't doing too well. He turns 8 next Sunday and we have his Baptism scheduled for right after church. We have church from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and he'll get baptized at 4:30pm. Please say a little extra prayer that this can happen. It's unbelievable how fast he's lost control of his body in just the last 3 weeks. Quote
candyprpl Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 I've been reading his journal -- I'm sorry to hear he's going down hill so fast. I will pray that all will go well for his baptism. What an amazing family! Quote
havejoy Posted December 2, 2009 Author Report Posted December 2, 2009 They really are amazing. I thought my faith was strong but this family strengthens me every time I'm blessed to be around them. Quote
havejoy Posted December 7, 2009 Author Report Posted December 7, 2009 Peyton was baptized and confirmed tonight. Thank you for your prayers. Quote
pam Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 I was thinking about that yesterday reading about his birthday on his website. That's awesome. Quote
havejoy Posted December 8, 2009 Author Report Posted December 8, 2009 It really was awesome. When I walked into the Church before Sacrament Meeting I could feel a different feeling in the building. It felt more like the Temple. Peyton's father baptized him but Peyton's uncle was also in the font to hold Peyton because he couldn't stand. I wish I had the words to describe the talks and the prayers and the whole experience but I don't. To say it was amazingly spiritual would just be a beginning. My heart just felt full and overflowing during the entire time. I wish everyone could have been there. Quote
pam Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Ohhhh I knew when I got the email this morning to go to Peyton's page it may not be good. I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of an amazing little boy. Havejoy please pass on my sincere condolences to his family. I've posted that on his journal page as well. Quote
beefche Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Quote
havejoy Posted December 15, 2009 Author Report Posted December 15, 2009 Thank you for all the prayers. Those of us who knew Peyton are torn. We prayed for him to go quickly but we miss him so much. He's such a sweet and silly little guy with such an amazing spirit. I understand why our Heavenly Parents wanted him home so soon. Quote
candyprpl Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I just read the latest journal update. So sorry to hear of his passing. Like his mother wrote, I'm also thankful to know of Heavenly Father's plan and to know that we can be an eternal family. I know Peyton is being taken care of loving family members that have gone before him. God Bless Peyton's family and all those who knew him personally. Quote
