Just_A_Guy Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 You've got to take this to the Lord and decide for yourself. If it adds any perspective, though, I tithe only on what I pay myself. If/when I ultimately sell my law practice, I'll tithe the proceeds at that time. Quote
havejoy Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 I used to own a business. I did the same as JAG. Quote
applepansy Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 The commandment is 10% of your increase. So, identify what your increase is and that's your answer. It can be difficult to determine your personal increase when you work for yourself. That's where you make a decision and the pray about it.Good luck. Quote
hordak Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 You've got to take this to the Lord and decide for yourself.Best answer ever. And the official answer as well. I will be post again when this hits page 5:) Quote
skalenfehl Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 As one who has owned/owns businesses, I've always paid tithing on my personal increases. My company was its own entity, with revenues and expenses. My company was never commanded to pay tithes. I was commanded to pay tithes. Quote
Maxgreen1 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I agree with JAG and Skalenfehl Your business is really a separate entity. Pay tithe based on what you keep for yourself, unless you are spiritually prompted otherwise. Quote
