Dravin Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 (edited) Dravin, if you still want to swim with a shirt, look for surfer shirts. They fit tighter to the body and of a material that resist the chafing problems. Discovered them when I was in Hawaii last year. About 1/2 the men there wear surfer shirts and many women do too. Thanks for the heads up. I'm a pale skinned red head so I general avoid the sun like a vampire, particularly if I'm going to be shirtless and swimming. Nothing sucks like only be able to do about an hour of fun in the sun before having to retreat to the shade like some undead beast. Of course now that I'm bald(ing, depending on how much I'm in denial at the moment), I'd need to buy a swim cap of some sort too.I suppose I could always go cheap and do the band-aid 'trick' I recall hearing about to deal with the worst of it, only problem is band-aids and chest hair = ouch! Bini Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 What do you see as appropriate bathers when you go swimming?I've seen church members wearing just a bikini before, or bikini with board shorts... one piece with shorts, or just a one piece... But I haven't been swimming in so long and I was curious as to what other members wear when they go swimming.I wear bikinis. Also, when I decide to take a dip it's in our own pool, so nobody sees me except my husband and sometimes family members. Quote
Moksha Posted November 22, 2009 Report Posted November 22, 2009 How does this swimwear modesty concern hold up with European Mormons? The general European concern for such cover-ups seems absent, so to speak. Quote
Just_A_Guy Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 I'm not personally sure what is appropriate or not but I know that we should probably stand in judgement of others and worry about what they are wearing. We should also probably name names.I think, in Australia, "bathers" = swimming suit. Quote
