CreoleCath Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Hi! My name's Andrew and I am a Catholic of French Creole descent with a very little experience in regards to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've visited the Visitor's Center at Kensington, MD and a few years ago I visited a ward regularly for about six months. Unfortunately, family pressures and well meaning friends at work turned my mind away for awhile. I would like to get back up to speed and learn a bit more about this fascinating and very effective faith.:) Quote
pam Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 My first thought with the "salutations" was Charlotte's Web. Welcome to the site. Quote
CreoleCath Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Yeah, " Charlotte's Web" was a good movie and I did get my greeting from it.:) Quote
rren Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 CreoleCath, I hope you feel very welcome here. I too was once Catholic and joined the LDS Church about 12 years ago. My life has been amazingly happy and blessed ever since I made that decision. You can hear my story here if you'd like: Feel free to ask me any questions you'd like.Ryan Quote
CreoleCath Posted December 5, 2009 Author Report Posted December 5, 2009 Thank you so much, rren.:) Quote
Maya Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Hi and welcome! Great to hear you are back to finding out the truth! Great to ahve you here enjoy! So officially: Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums. While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab. Quote

Thank you so much for your encouragement!:) If God be willing, the truth will be made manifest to me and there will be nothing left for me to do but follow it. Until then, I pray for it. Quote
rren Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 CreoleCath, prayer is certainly the key. Don't be discouraged if the answers don't come immediately. It took me a long time (over 6 months) and finally received an answer, as you saw in my video. Just keep seeking for guidance and direction, knowledge and faith, and all of it will be granted to you.
