My name is Nikkie and I am new to the site. I have been a member of the church for three years. My husband and I were sealed in the Washington DC temple two years ago. I am currently the Mia Maids adviser in my ward which I love. My husband was inactive when we first got married (four years ago) but as I was taking the discussions he decided to reactive. Our lives have been so much more than I ever expected and I know it is because of the gospel. We have two cats and one puppy. For the past two years I have been struggling to get pregnant and felt like I need a outlet to talk about how I feel. I started a forum called Empty Arms to help women like myself who have struggled with this difficult trial. I hope to get to know some of you better!

Welcome Nikkie! It is amazing how much more life can be when you live the ghospel. I have a couple of friends who were not supposed to get kids but they did... one of them had hard time stopping getting pregnant.... My daughter, the younger one has found out, that her boyfriend is not able to have kids (they are not LDS) but it may be better as it seems the fathers family has more or less enheritable canser, as all of the men in family has had it. Anyway enjoy the forum!

So officially:

Welcome to LDS.net. You will find here an ecclectic mix of LDS and some non-members. While the site is dedicated to the Gospel, and to promoting the Church to a world that often does not understand us, we also make room for conversations about current events, and about social and cultural practices within the Church. If your main desire is to learn about the Church, consider starting with the "Learn About Mormonism" forums. For more advanced teachings, that will often include a variety of perspectives, some non-LDS, consider the Gospel section of forums.

While you are welcome to all main sections, be aware this site makes room for a variety of opinions and personalities. Some posters can be passionate about their views, and occasionally more so about them than about the souls of visitors. If you find something particularly offensive, feel free to make a report by clicking the appropriate tab.
