RuhiWarrior19
Hello everyone. My name is Gerald, I feel like I live in Idaho, but I am actually living in Maine for a year and then moving to Minnesota for school. I am a member of the Baha'i Faith, but about as close to being a Mormon as is possible without being one. Although our religions use the word "Prophet" in different ways, I certainly believe that Joseph Smith was a spiritual giant who received divine inspiration and communication, and I consider the LDS Scriptures to be texts which contain a great deal of divine guidance. I find the Book of Moses in the PGP most fascinating and useful, although I do not believe it to be literally true. I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints to be the church which most closely emulates the teachings and spirit of the life of the Blessed Christ. I just hope to learn here, share in fellowship (I miss conversations with Mormons living here in Maine now, surrounded by Baha'is), and see how those in the LDS Faith who spend large/all amounts of their time in service (On Missions particularly) deal with issues I think we share (I currently am doing a Year of Service at Green Acre Baha'i School, sort of the Baha'i equivalent to a mission). The Baha'i Faith and the LDS Church share much more in common than any two religions I can think of that aren't directly connected. (There are whole books and websites about it!) We have very similar ideas of morality and virtue that aren't shared by the general population, believe in continuing revelation, have similar origins, and similar goals. I am happy to answer any questions, but more than anything I am here to learn. Once I finally get around to reading the BoM in whole, this will be a great resource, now that I am no longer living in Mormon-country. God Bless, Gerald

Maya
Welome. I think the main reason why many religions actually DO have a lot incommon with mormons is that the religions atually come from the same sauce adn those religions that are most like mormons have managed to save more of the truth than others. I also think some religions may even know of some truths that are nto yet told to us. Enjoy the forum.
