aegf1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Is it possible to meet with LDS missionaries somewhere other than where you live? I live in a barracks, and it's not the best setting for a theological discussion. If it would be permissible then how would I go about requesting it? Quote
bytebear Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 Any public place will work. A park, a library, a coffee shop, the church, another persons home. Missionaries cannot teach in their own apartments however, but just about anywhere works fine. Just ask them to meet you wherever and they will accommodate. Quote
not_ashamed Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 When I joined the church I was 15 and my parents were not comfortable with having the missionaries in our home. It was sometimes difficult with me being a girl and having male missionaries. When my boyfriend couldn't be there they would have to find a male member and a place for us to meet. We often met at the ward building. sometimes we would meet in other places too though, such as another members home or even mcdonalds. Quote

Check with the missionaries for the building location to hold your discussions. I do pray, that your desires of your spirit will be answered and confirmed by the Holy Ghost. Quote
crazypotato Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 Currently I live in an army base. The missionaries cannot proselytize. The rules on this base are that they can only go to the member's houses. So I think call up the missionaries and ask to meet at a member's house on base or over at the church. A house or apt on base would be easier. Quote
falds Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 I've seen missionaries in the barracks. They can't proselyte, but I believe they can go if invited. Quote
